Can I transfer ingame money to other Commanders?

I was thinking to get in touch with friends after release and get ourselves a crew to expropriate goods of other pilots. But how can we share spoils? Let's say I'll got kitted out Eagle and my friend plays as a bait in a Hauler. In theory after the battle we collect any goods that left, go to the station and split our profit even. Can we do that?

I think you two will be able to form a Wing, and do some profit sharing agreement. It's definitely coming in some form, and I really hope proper co-op features make it into the 16th of December launch.

Direct credit transfers between players are listed in the DDA's. The exact mechanics of it are currently unknown by us. It is a must have for cooperative play however.

Have him buy the most expensive cargo he can afford, jettison it, you pick it up and fly past every system authority vessel you can find. After 24 hours your fines turn to bounties, so hop in a sidewinder and let him kill you :D

There is a way but both players have to be in the same area.

Player that want to exchange credits.

1 Buy Gold cargo.

2 Meet player 2. drop cargo in front of player 2

3 Player 2 pick up cargo. Then take to black market.

But until then it wait and see.

Personally, I hope we're never able to transfer in game credits to other players, it will keep from selling credits on 3rd party websites and keep the game honest.

so uh, how you going to keep your friend(s) happy when you keep getting all the final blows and raking in all the bounty while they make squat? That's just one example.

Any friends I make in game are adult enough to earn what they get and mature enough to understand that's how it is. I'll also advise them how to go about making credits of their own, from my experiences here in Beta and after Gamma/Release.

Besides, to start out with, I plan to stay in Solo Online, until I can get myself away from the core systems and away from the griefers, then I'll move back to Open Play, and hopefully those I meet on my journeys, which I suspect will be few and far between based on what DB says, will more likely, be more mature and not ready to KoS just because I'm there, like so many rejects from games which will go unnamed here, have done here.

Ok, well that makes sense for you then. Initially I plan on playing full Online, if I experience too many idiots then I may go solo or private. However, I have 4-5 close friends that I would love to play with when we all can get together. Being able to split credits and cargo makes it easier for everyone to advance themselves at once - rather than each person taking turns going on their own adventure to make their credits while the rest of the friends just kinda tag along to help "for free", so to speak.

I see what direction you are taking, and I see your viewpoint. But I still think it should be implemented for people who really want to co-op with their good friends and allow everyone to partake in the credit making at once.

If your friends are to learn the game, and practice the skills needed, let them do it, give them tips on what to do, but let them do it and get the practice. You've had the benefit of playing for however long you've been in alpha/beta, but they're going to need time, let them earn their wings instead of doing all the work for them.

Perhaps, but this is how in game money gets abused by people monetizing the ingame credits/gold, whatever, by selling it for real world money. This is what ends up also promoting pay-to-win, which David Braben and Frontier have clearly said they don't want. Personally, I've seen it far too many times in other games to think it's a good idea, and it is definitely something I'll fight against as strongly as I'm able.

Agreed. It's unfortunate but the cons heavily outweigh the pros IMHO. If they can implement this someway and eliminate the huge cons I guess I would be for it.

Why wouldn't I let them? But why shouldn't we all get to split the credits from having fun doing whatever it is we're doing? People have fun playing a game with friends, but also with the thought that while playing they're advancing themselves as well - in the company of friends. You are playing a game in the company of people you enjoy, and are all benefiting from it as well. If only one guy out of 3-5 is making money, while the rest are not making any or possibly even spending money - where's the incentive for co-op outside of just being in the company of your friends? It's going to branch out into you plus 4 of your friends all doing something solo in the same area so everyone gets a credit.

Sure, it's a problem. But I see more than a few games out there that are still chugging along just fine despite this fact. Also, with the way Elite is right now, "paying for gold" is just a silly way to cheat yourself out of game time. If I pay $10 for 10m credits and get into my big bad Anaconda, what do I have left? I've cheated myself out of days or even weeks of an amazing journey though the galaxy working up to that ship. It's not like those credits are going to let me buy a system, or a station, or have an empire that will affect others. It's known this game isn't going to work like that.

I really don't think any gold sellers in this game are going to severely affect anyone else playing. As far as I can see it, it's only going to cheat the buyer out of the Elite experience.

Guess they'll have to work that much harder, instead of having someone give them everything and "pay-to-win"

Perhaps, perhaps not, but frankly, it would sully Elite and ruin it, and it's something that will be fought against tooth and nail but many.
