Am I qualified for Beta Status? (ie 25% insurance and 5 ships?) +questions

I'm currently confused about my current account status.

I have brought the Main game & Lifetime Expansion Pass. I think I brought the expansion pass before Beta stage started and main game after Beta started.

I read into newsletter #49 which states for beta backer:

25% off in-game ship insurance for life to all our Beta backers
free access to one of the 5 new ships when it’s released!

1) Am I qualified for the benefits above? Since I brought the game pre/during beta.
2) If no to question 1, Is £15 worth it for 25% lifetime discount?
3) "free access" to 1 of 5 ships. Does this mean ship brought with in-game money or real world cash?

I'm just a bit confused as to the benefits and whether I'm eligible.

EDIT: I have not brought the Beta pass though.
I'm eagerly waiting for the 22Nov Date....

1. As above.

3 (although you put 2 twice).. free access probably refers to needing faction rep in order to buy it (with in game credits) it does not mean you will get the ship of your choice for free though. They will probably cost multi-millions..

2) I think it's not about worth (see my point at 3) below) but about supporting FD to make this game.
3) As I understand it there are no plans to buy ships with real money, you have to earn the credits in-game.

I may be wrong but if have not bought the beta then you won't be able to play the gamma on 22nd November. If you have pre ordered you will need to wait until launch on Dec 16th. Not sure if this is what you meant by waiting for 22nd..

Edit: from the newsletter. .
Being a Beta backer is the only way you will be able to play Elite: Dangerous until 16th December.

So my guess is that you currently have a pre order only and won't get the insurance discount or access to one of the new ships.

You are 100% correct, if he didn't upgrade to beta, then he will not be in Gamma, and will have to wait for release on Dec 16.

It was kinda vague, but the way I read it, KS backers and alpha/beta backers will get Gamma, I could be wrong, it would be nice if FD would clarify this.

Correct

You know. This really reeks of pay to win. I am in the beta so I get these advantages, but I personally would prefer that people in beta not get these advantages over people who purchase the game later. The advantages are small, but still they are there.

This advantage thing has come up before regarding the access to Sol. Would be good if we had an option to choose what if any bonuses we wished to accept.
