Missing downed thargoid ship in hip 17403?

So I have been looking for this downed thargoid ship for over 7 hours now at the coordinates provided by many sources. The ship is nowhere to be found and I have scaned the downed craft beacon above where the crash should be. Why is there nothing to lock onto? is this a glitch? help!

If you DSS HIP 17403 A 4 a then it should show up at least as you approach. I have to admit not ever having gone there in Odyssey but it should be there.

it dosent though, there is not one point of interest on the planet even after scanned. I'm going to record it and post a link here

so it's not supposed to be a point of interest? I have to actually find it with the LAT and LON? well at a different one than what I have
I don't know. It may be revealed with a DSS scan like other crash sites, but I have not had reason to check.

Lat and Lon is from the dark ages of Elite, and shouldn't be necessary now.

Did you try a DSS scan?

Yes I tried that as well, someone on a FB group said it may be a bug.. Do you think that may be the case?

OK - I just went out to check - it is definitely there - DSS reveals a Thargoid signal - nav screen shows it - select target - there is is on the moon.

You just didn't complete the map - your video shows you exit DSS screen after one probe and only 31% mapped.

No it is not a bug, you just didn't do it right.

Like Fnord and Codger said - you only scanned 31% of the planet:

You need to map at least 80% of any planet and the percentage will automatically go up to 100%.
Do you know, you can also scan the backside of a planet from your actual position?

I assume, you are using a DSS from tech broker, so for a planet with 6 needed probes as indicated, you will need 2-3 probes for 100%:

I recommend using 3 probes (with tech-broker-DSS), so you can be sure, you will get 100% mapped.
When firing the probes, you can target "behind" the planet, which is indicated by a dashed line.
For a planet with 6 needed probes, i would recommend to fire something like this:
(The probes behind these dashed lines will impact on the backside. Also please everybody regard my talent for art here! I just hope you can see what i mean... about time i find a way to upload my captured videos...)

Also a little hint: in your video it seems your "DSS-cursor" is moving quite slow. You can set this sensitivity in the options somewhere and so move much faster to the dashed lines. With some experience the scan for this planet is done in 1-2 seconds (+ time for impacting probes of course).

Edit: just managed it to capture an ingame screenshot with example for three probes, the dashed line for a "6 probe planet":
