What's odd about this bug is, I had the same issue but a buddy of mine was able to pick a planet with his FC jump around the same time.
I had the problem. Backed out of the Carrier Management interface, went back in and I could then select the body I was trying to select in the first place. YMMV...

Tried multiple variations on your theme, still no joy. Once in system view everything is not a valid carrier destination. Appreciate the info, might work next jump, fingers crossed
 
Well, I don't seem to be having any of the troubles you guys are having. Maybe it's my PC build, internet speed, or bandwidth, but it seems to run fine even when I connect remotely to my PC from work.

yeah I tried that 10 times, relogged 5 times, quit to desktop and relaunched game 2 of those times, nothing.

What's weird is that it's only certain systems. like ones near Shinrarta, almost like they are permit launched or......

What if its the code that keeps you from jumping into Thargoid incursioned or maelstrom systems, I mean there are 5 star goids still out there. Because I noticed that the bug only seems to be in a small bubble of systems around Shinrarta.
 
Played in the last 3 days and actually had no major problems. Was also pulled out of the drive several times. AX makes fun and currently I would say that it is going very well.
Your experience doesn't mean it's going well for everyone though. This thread alone is filled with people having major issues.
 
Since U14- I noticed The Scarab SRV's plasma repeater turret has lost its tracers. I still hit my targets, but I don't see tracers - anybody else has the same problem?
 
Finally got a successful jump within a system
THIS WORKED apparently using bookmarks is not liked.
*I have found that if you search for a system, or use a bookmark, and then enter the system map to select a body to jump the fleet carrier to, even if it should be a valid jump point you can not plot the jump getting the error message that it is not a valid target.
However if I move the selection cursor to the system manually, not searching or using a bookmark, I can then enter the system map and plot to the required body.*

Slowly coming back after taking a break from the game I'm properly excited for this more dynamic approach to the 2nd war. (y)(y) to the team. Having gone through the patch notes there's a lot more to like, but I noticed two areas that are still in need for attention, especially now that AX combat is front and center:
  • The lateral thruster bug, present since last year. Has been acknowledged before so I'll skip the details. Yes, I know of the workaround of switching off Rotational Correction, but not everybody does. Also the game will take every opportunity to override that setting, which gets annoying pretty fast.
  • Trailing gun sight mode, broken since forever and about to enter Kindergarten by now. One bug is that in trailing mode every hardpoint targeting reticule is missing the required offset from the center line. Another bug (unless I'm a dum dum missing something) is that the Flak Launcher doesn't have any reticule at all in trailing mode, rendering it useless.

The thruster bug affects everybody everywhere in 4.0 but most sensitive are AX combat (Cold Orbit) and big ships (used quite often for station rescue scenarios). Trailing mode wasn't such a big deal in the past, but since Salvation happened there are more options available that aren't hit scan weapons, also those Maelstroms rendering Guardian tech useless, and new players starting out with Sirius engineered AX weapons (once their tech brokers are back from vacation). Quite a few use cases for slow projectile weapons so it seems reasonable to expect increasing uptake on trailing mode in the near future, pulling that feature out of its niche.

@sallymorganmoore Would it be possible to have these bumped up in priority?

I waited till today to download and for the moment no big issues to report.
It even seems to have fix a bug with mining, under Odyssey :love:
Orange light on asteroid with deep mining etc seems to be real clear and no more reflecting else where.
Edit : still some problems left :confused:
  • when a deep mining spot is empty, it doesn't disapear
  • limped blown out 75% of time when going to catch a bit out of deep mining (only way empty it and when pieces of tritium have stop move, let out limpets...)
  • still pieces of material get stuck inside the asteroid causing loss of limpets
  • when detected by a prospector, the mining spots some time dont show clearly like before. Have to go in left menu, select them, to see them

last weekI could make a full python (192 t) in 2h, today I did 130t in 2h30 and stopped cause no more limpets :(

Under Horizon : orange light that was working well is now totally bugged : there is no more orange light at all.
Saw an asteroid with surface spots and when a prospector on it : was also a deep mining spot. But no light at all before sending it
Would be nice for Horizon miners to solve that :)

Is it just me or have they improved planets a little bit in this update? I notice more planet variation in terms of colour/look, and an improvement in the terrain (less bland, more characteristic). Previously it seemed much more generic.
I feel this too but don't actually know if there is any change. I think the skybox has improved as well but again, it might just be me.
 
I have the impression that the performance has increased somewhat, and that things look better. I suspect that toning down the cockpit lighting makes everything else look better.
FPS has definitely improved for me. Also the skybox for me looks better but then it might be because I'm out in the black where stars are less prevalent. Not really noticed much difference with planetary surfaces though.

A few cockpits I've seen are definitely not as bright as they've been lately. EDO has this weird function of dimming what you see if there is something else really bright, so I think those bright cockpits made everything else look much more dimmed.

To add to this, I've also noticed some new subtle audio changes and I don't just mean the new glide creaking noise.
 
Well, for whatever it's worth, I threw up a suggestion about the dumb mission board QOL change here... I really hope it gets removed quickly... it's a big deterrant for actually doing evacuation work.

As per all of the tracker chatter in the following release schedule thread here, I'm opening up this separate thread following the below statement:

IMPORTANT NEWS.

Update 14 will be available for LIVE (4.0) versions of Elite Dangerous only, at present.

Legacy servers will remain currently unavailable, whilst we continue to investigate an ongoing server issue.

We hope to resolve this as soon as possible o7




Known Issue with Launching the game:
  • For some, there is an "endless loop" when attempting to follow a prompt to update their launcher.
    • We're investigating why this is happening for some and not others by passing on reports at present.
    • A helpful suggestion on a fix for this issue has been shared by Commander Buur, in that If you have trouble getting the launcher to update then download it again from the FDEV store.
    • Another case regarding the above launcher issues is that of Commanders being unable to acquire a 'new version' of the launcher.
UPDATE ON LAUNCHER ISSUES:
  • 'Re-install launcher' will hopefully now work for those who have been struggling. Please do try again when possible/prompted.




CONNECTION ISSUES:
  • For others there is a persistent black screen occurring following entering game.
    • Again, we're taking reports and discussing.
  • Commanders experiencing a number of connection errors and crash/stability issues when loading into game. Connection error examples are currently:
    • Scarlet Krait.
    • Mauve Adder.
    • Taupe Cobra.
    • Orange Sidewinders.
Appreciate if you're hitting either of these, then they're very progress halting issues that you're facing right now but we're here with you, we'll help as readily as possible o7




As you can imagine, there's a lot to take in from the day so far and lots more to come so happy to open this thread and welcome you all in as we move.

Once again, progress on Legacy availability will be shared as soon as we have it.

Unfortunately, I just got the 'iron from needle crystals' bug again. Might want to take a look at that.
