World of Warships

That's interesting. I'm not in the loop with all the latest news and info from Wargaming (WoT or WoWs); I just play the game vanilla with flags, banners and camo. I doubt anybody would want my account (I didn't play for a couple of years).

This week I plan to achieve my goal of getting the Tier 10 USN DD (Gearing). I decided to use my free XP to finish up researching the Gearing. I'm a little over 1/3 to unlocking it via playing the Fletcher but I have over 300k of free XP I can convert with about half left over. My problem is money. The Gearing is 19.5 million credits and I only have ~10.5 atm. I have a few ships I can sell and have enough to buy it and upgrade it sufficiently for combat.

Of course, I can always get up off my wallet and pay for it with real world money. That's another decision I haven't made yet. Heck, I've unlocked a T8 Amagi and North Caroline (BBs), a T9 Ibuki (CL), and a T7 Akatsuki (DD), but alas, not enough money then or now since I have a shiny object to look forward to.

On another note, I have not been lucky enough to get the maps that have the new underwater vegetation (only two have these added in the last patch, iirc); and be in a match with subs to ride around on after I'm dead.

I'm going to move on to other endeavors after I achieve my WoWs goal. But what will it be (?) ... MW, X4's new DLC, or something completely new. GL HF Commanders

Over the years I have spent roughly $60, or $80 at most - I had the policy of giving WG about $20 a year as a fair money for using their services. The valuable ships I have are freemiums, i.e. they were available for resources but since then removed partially because they are OP, also have some one-off dockyard ships. Also there is plenty of time sink involved in loads of silver lines that are at T10, plus the steel and research bureau ships. Finally, I have 'won' a lot of premium ships from various containers.

Moving on is a great call, actually I am contemplating offloading my account so that I can finally break the Stockholm syndrome and 'sunk effort fallacy' this game really is. :)

I finally got a picture of some seaweed.

Fwiw. Have a nice day.

Mission accomplished.
The USS Gearing is all mine now and upgraded. I didn't even have to sell all my ships to afford its 19.5 million credit price tag plus the upgrade costs..
Its a credit sink unless I'm running premium. W/o premium I have to play a couple of T6-8 ships to pay back the lost money (even if I do good (not great) and have a good team to take the win). I haven't had a monster game yet, but I'm working on it. It was no surprise since I was losing credits with the T9 DD even with a win. Oh well, I will play lower tier games still w/ a grandson who's caught an interest in WoWs.

Ultimate Admiral is very early EA and quite buggy. Especially the pathfinding / collision detection they recently added. Era is the main selling point but right now it comes down to torpedo spam. They have really nice flash fire animations though. Campaign with tech tree and
peace/war periods in development.
Cold Waters is quite a good a casual subsim.
The modern naval I saw featured in vid I think - it's subsim focus, I believe?

Better enjoy WOWS while you can. RL is happening again...
Huh ??
Does RL = real life ?

I looked briefly on the forums and all I noticed was changes to tick rate to improve fast firing main batteries. Inquiring minds ... you know

The latest little patch is conflicting with Mod Station, among others. Also, multiple reports of uninstall/re-install after removing said mods not addressing issue.

well, I just reloaded it so I'm ... back in the saddle again. Gonna start off tomorrow in the Fuso, a wonderful ship it is.

GL HF and have a nice day

I think the term Pagoda Mast was defined by this ship and others (like the Nagato). The Fuso is awesome at its tier.

I have many battles on this ship. I would love to climb to the top levels and behold the seas.
Have a nice weekend.

Gosh dang this game is fun ... now that I've got back into it and re-acquainted myself to the controls.
I realized what I had forgotten: the DDs are much harder to be effective with.
BBs and CLs are a lot fun and a bit easier. I haven't played my heavy cruisers yet but I know they'll be fun too.

Yes sir. DD's are the real ships (hehehe). Just kidding, sorry if I offended. I'm partial since my late daddyO was on a Gearing class DD around the end of the Korean conflict.
Plus, one of my favorite naval combat books is "Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors" by Hornfischer. "Neptune's Inferno" is good too.

My Akatsuki is my main DD ride atm. I have the Gearing but to buy this one I had to sell several ships, thus I only a few of my favorites, mostly Japanese and U.S.
