You don't want to know how many Fletcher Class models I built as a child...Yes sir. DD's are the real ships (hehehe). Just kidding, sorry if I offended. I'm partial since my late daddyO was on a Gearing class DD around the end of the Korean conflict.
Plus, one of my favorite naval combat books is "Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors" by Hornfischer. "Neptune's Inferno" is good too.
My Akatsuki is my main DD ride atm. I have the Gearing but to buy this one I had to sell several ships, thus I only a few of my favorites, mostly Japanese and U.S.
I grew up on sea stories from my two WW 2 Navy uncles. One survived PQ 13 (shudder).
I like the IJN and USN lines.
