I was tempted to vote for the Eurasian brown bear, because I still think that this was the biggest mistake ever made in Planet Zoo. With more than 200 zoos in Europe having them, choosing the Himalayan Brown Bear instead was a horrible decision, especially when there were already other 2 Asian bears in the base game. I know it will never make it to the game and if it did, people would complain and consider it a wasted slot, but I would consider it as the fixing of a terrible mistake.

I believe that, with the addition of six of the top 100 in the Grasslands Animal Pack and the inclusion of the red deer, the yellow-throated marten is now within the top 100! Considering in the first meta-wishlist it was literally stone-dead last out of 461 animals, with just a single vote, that is a huge increase. Now if Frontier could just make it, that would be brilliant.

If this is your first list, then yes. If this is an old list, you have to quote your old list to make comparison easy. However, after the conservation pack (so from the red deer onwards) you can no longer replace animals that got in.

I know we can’t replace animals anymore but look! I finally get to check some things off my original list. 😅 Very happy about finally getting the maned wolf and caracal, and I’m excited about the striped hyena and the butterflies too!

If I may campaign a bit though, for anyone who somehow hasn’t submitted a list yet…

I notice a lot of people have been voting for the Collared Peccary. Collared Peccaries are fairly common, and are the least endangered of the three species of peccary. Meanwhile, there are only around 3,000 Chacoan Peccaries left in the WORLD. They live in a very small range within the Gran Chaco, which is rapidly being fragmented due to ranching, and there are not many hunting regulations on them. There is a ssp, but there are very few zoos that work with them. This is a travesty… zoos should be focusing on the animals who need our help the most rather than their more common relatives. So I think having them in Planet Zoo would be great for getting the word out about their plight.

So! If you’re going to cast a vote for a peccary, consider the Chacoan Peccary instead!

Although I feel like some of these are wasted slots now (e.g. Iberian Lynx when Eurasian Lynx is now in), my list still holds up for me pretty well. We got 8 of them in the past year too! I did notice that the topic is now top 25, and my list is only 20, so I was wondering if I could add 5 more?
