Thargoid War: Options

Regardless they have a value: A scout is unlikely to equal a Medusa.
this is the thing ive been thinking on whether on not cretits = progress if this is true then min maxing would become quite simple, but big brains out there need to prove or disprove this as just assuming this could do more harm than good
 
As things currently are, barely anyone is doing the missions for multiple kills of medusas or hydras (or even basilisks) because the time limits are simply too short to ensure enough spawns will appear. You can see from the breakdown of kills on Inara how rare the higher types are.
 
I certainly presume that kills are recorded, whether done for a mission or not, and that a scout is less a impactful kill than a medusa. You have to track progress somewhere even in 'normal' combat scenarios because it's also always possible that a CMDR doesn't redeem their combat bonds right away and/or in the same system.
Using HIP 23716 as an example, I turned in a hefty amount of Pilot's Federation combat bonds (just for annoying* scouts with a bunch of CMDRs in front of Wakata Station) in a nearby system where there is a port. But the kills were all made in HIP 23176, of course. Who cares (atm) about Thargoid kills in Phrygiang? (with respect to the day's conflict, obviously)

* I'm nowhere near what I would call an AX combat pilot, but can still have some fun.

It could be tested in one of the systems no one is bothering with but the AX fighters seem to be in a mood to shoot stuff and then look for more stuff to shoot.
