don't you called me an onionhead?

It's surprisingly busy at the Guardian sites currently, not only i landed and saw someone digging, but i saw someone who landed earlier just to see someone else digging already. I picked up a couple of relics noone apparently was wishing for, just not to feel that landing wasted, and headed to another place, and there got out my Scorpion, shot a relic, parked close to the orb and disembarked.

G4 Art, G4 Aphelion and G4 Zenith - Art as it jumps much better, and lasers as i had them equipped anyway, and it felt they were ok for Sentinels. Art was a wise decision, it's not a CZ, slower you move, more time the whole thing will take. Awaken Sentinels sometimes felt like a little puzzled, as they apparently generally hoped for an SRV, and started shooting only after a while. It felt easy and a bit slow, as you got to go to the different corners of the Structure to activate pylons. Shields stand quite a lot of shots, Sentinels not shooting as much as those CZ guys, though their projectiles are kind of wide, and strafing sometimes does not let you escape as fast, as you got used @ CZ, effectively catching some extra. But not a prob and you can always hide behind a wall. Another time (likely after all pylons lightened) 4 of them dug out and it could be a challenge on some open ground, i suppose, but there's hardly any open ground there - again, strafing out to shoot.

Overall it felt a bit slower than doing the whole thing in SRV, at least per my impression, mostly because you run around + handguns are still damaging Sentinels slower (and you need to reload too). Pros, however, are that you find pylons much faster (i never checked all those schemas and i'm too lazy to remember even after quite a lot of Structures and always go like ok, so that's the left one, one could be at the right side or in the center) - and here you just jump and see the whole thing on a plate + surprisingly i felt even better protected than in an SRV, likely due to the better maneuvrability on foot and especially the ability to fly away. Anyways a nice thing, shame we can not carry even a single item of Guardian technology whatever - that would make it a blast.

in' ell. Three bugged CZ's in a row!

It seens that, if you get the "unsafe temperature" warning, it sort of stops the score countdown from appearing which, in turn, bugs the whole thing out. At least, that was the case for my CZ's - two mediums and a low to test my theory.

Finally got round to rescuing some Thargoids from the nasty civilians or vice versa, took my tweaked Orca (Caroline Munro) along and so far things aren’t going too badly. The first encounter was a disaster of course so a couple more tweaks and now things seem to be going fine.

The Thargoids interdict me on the way to my rescue site and or in the system itself, so based on comments read somewhere in the forum I haven’t tried to escape so far, as soon as I am in normal space I hit boost and check the ship is at full power, I then look where the Thargoid(s) is if it looks dangerously close I will fire a heatsinks. By now I will be doing 507 without the boost and pulling away. Once the contact panel is clear it is back to cruise to finish the trip.

My target is a planetary port which shows up well in the night due to all the fires, landing has only been an issue regarding slowing down fast enough. Leaving feels more uncomfortable due to the lack of information as to what is overhead as I launch but so far the only incident on the evacuation part of the trip has been some NPC in an FdL saying he was going to interdict me, he hasn’t got close enough yet.

As I am feeling nicely overconfident I am considering getting rid of the limpet controller and 4 tonne cargo rack but I doubt the increase in passenger capacity is worth the trouble.

One of the best things about these runs apart from feeling part of the effort is the passengers haven’t said a thing yet, long may that continue.

I really like this gameplay, and it's very easy to spot the triangular socket of the pylon from above, an Artemis with increased jump and speed shines for this. Yes I agree it would be great if you could collect the guardian mats when on foot.

Took a trip to one of the many front line planets. Things were heating up on the ground, with twin bugs giving some kind of light show for the residents.

There was no shortage of people wanting airlifts out, or of stasis pods that needed shipping to a medical ship - to the point where this was the first run where a smaller ship with say 32t of cargo wouldn't have been a total waste. Except this planet had a large pad so it would 😹

The bugs seemed to be waiting for me on launch, positioning themselves almost directly in my line of flight, but they were occupied by the local forces and with a couple of heatsink drops they let me through unmolested.

For once, the rescue ship was on the day side of the planet - so obviously it had angled itself to just keep the landing pads in darkness 😔

Upon arrival, I disembarked the passengers, then got hit with a fine because the UI had glitched at the other end and not loaded 6 life pods. I knew it had glitched, I had backed out with backspace because it no longer responded to mouse. I'd gone back in, checked the cargo list, verified that everything that was meant to be loaded was loaded - and yet somehow these ones were not, in fact, in my cargo bay. But nor had there been an option to load them, and I couldn't exit to menu because the game had decided that this dock was a dangerous position and warned me it would move my ship if I logged out there.

Which wass a little annoying, but by this point it was 3:30 in the morning and no I wasn't going back right now. I'll pay the fine next run I guess, it was a fairly big faction and will probably be present in other invated systems.

(Side note; why can't every system just let you pay the damn fine? Unless two systems are at war, why can't their admin team handle basics like a bank transfer on your behalf? Imagine getting a parking ticket on holiday then being told 2 weeks later that you have to go back to that town in another country in order to clear the record. This is a good way to never have fines paid.)
