Later he asks about what competition SC has and declares there is no competition, not ED, not Starfield... then he goes on to note how even T0 stuff and missing stuff, SC is still better than anything else out there. The only enemy is time....

Hah, so he brings up PES and someone brings up Ark, how its done it for years.
Then he starts getting defensive, asking how many people on an Ark server (answer, up to 100, same as SC, but without the 30Ks), and then asks if Ark persists or cleans up things (server setting, you can change the decay of stuff that is dropped, server periodically saves the world state, so depending on how often you set that determines how much is lost if server crashes, not that it does often - so its not real time backup of stuff, but it hardly matters). So then he switches track and says how SC will have clean up anyway (obviously) because nobody cares if you go back a week later to where you dropped something and its still there.
So basically same as the numpty i argued with on refunds. Starts out how PES is so cool and never been done before and eventually cycles round to it being nothing special and clean up is needed anyway.

They're very popular in general within the veteran SC community as well...for the simple fact that the videos are a window on the unvarnished truth untainted by personal opinion.
I mention veteran backers in particular...since we were actually there and remember all those events (before they became SC memes) through the mists of our dotage...but there's now an entire new generation of summer children standing tall on the wallets of those of us who 'answered the call'...somewhere around the same time as the extinction of the dinosaurs

Yeah, it was funny with Mike who started by saying they were out of context, and then later in his vid he said something like "they are not really out of context"
Mike viewed the vids initially with the same attitude as I did...namely, "Ok...here's another one." Like me, once I started recapping what was said by who and when, it all made perfect sense.
One thing about being a long term backer with SC...we all suffer from a generational memory loss when it comes to it's
The new summer children don't have any of that, I see it every time I log in and watch the global chat. To them...we're just cynical because we're old...or we don't understand game development
