AskaGameDev doesn't understand game dev...

The majority of the time players are not going to find anything interesting or compelling about interacting with an elevator. It’s often just a means of gating the player to keep them from reaching some other element of the game until a certain point, and these kinds of gates should probably not suck up a huge amount of your development resources when they could much more easily be spent on the content and systems actually meant to be engaging.

That elevator thing makes sense now. What would make boring elevators more exciting than a random chance of death? Imagine if irl there was a 1/4 chance of the elevator bursting through the wall and mowing you down, or yeeting you out of the building or just quietly murdering you. You wouldn't think the daily elevator ride to work would be so boring anymore?

CIG are just innovating on a level nobody can conceive. And with each patch giving more random deaths it gets better and better!

CI are a one trick pony, they really do suck new waves of naive customers year after year into the ebb and flow of their marketing machine. The amount of salt in the comments is making me dehydrated:

He joined in 2019. In 4 years time we will be shaking our heads at threads from citizens who joined in 2023, writing the same thread.

The economy is working just fine. People give CIG money for spaceships, CIG pretend to develop the game, everyone is happy.

way less than 50%
A better question would be "what are the chances of there ever being a full release version of S42?" Where "full" means a regular game that competes with other games with no caveats, even regardless of quality, and not a stripped-down intro, demo, "prelude" or some other having-your-cake-and-eat-it "it's released!" / "it's tier 0 alpha, the full game will be so much better!" trickery.
And the answer would be: zero chance.
