Hi
This doesn't make much sense when I have all my ships docked at this station:

Can you add an interface to take the elevator to any ships you have stored at a given starport?
Thanks
Yes that's true. It would potentially be a long list. But I guess no longer than the list at Inter Astra ¯\(ツ)/¯You can do that through Inter Astra before you get to the lift, but it would be nice to have multiple options available at lifts, but just to point out, in the original previews of fleet carriers the lifts actually had multiple destinations, but these were mysteriously removed before the FC launch patch. I can only imagine due to some technical difficulty with assigning multiple destination to one lift, otherwise they could have one set of lifts that serviced your dock, Apex and Frontline with selectable destinations, that this didn't happen is probably not something they could help. Mind you, suddenly being presented with 40 ships in a huge scrolling might also have something to do with it!

I suppose there is some in-universe plausibility behind it... Only your 'readied' ship is in a hangar ready to go, and the others are slotted away on some giant rack thing far from the docking bay maybe. I don't know.
My guess is that was for easily testing out the various interior hubs for the different carrier configurations, would be awesome if they were working on expanding the interiors though. I believe if you're in a team you can also choose between going your own or your partner's ship. You can do that through Inter Astra before you get to the lift, but it would be nice to have multiple options available at lifts, but just to point out, in the original previews of fleet carriers the lifts actually had multiple destinations, but these were mysteriously removed before the FC launch patch.
I believe the multiple-destinations UI is still implemented, just used for a different purpose. Mind you, it's been some time since I last saw this, but my recollection is that if you're in a wing (sorry, ahem, "team") and multiple teammates have ships docked, this UI is used to let you select any of those ships to board for "in-person" multicrew.Yeah but the list at Intra Astra is at least organised in a full UI rather than just a loooooong list of ships. But I still think, due to some unknown technical reason, they haven't yet implemented multiple destination for the lift even though they originally planned doing it. Mind you I have seen SC lifts with their mutliple destinations and...., it doesn't always end well that's for sure!
Correct. Picking from amongst the team’s active ships works well. Having to pick from all of my available ships would be a major pain.I believe the multiple-destinations UI is still implemented, just used for a different purpose. Active ship on top
ships marked as "favorite" directly below
all others after that
Agreed, what might work well for the new player with three ships would be a usability disaster for those with forty. The fullscreen shipyard interface is a much better choice for those people.Correct. Picking from amongst the team’s active ships works well. If you switch ships from inter astra and run to the hangar elevators you can get a message about the ship being readied.Only your 'readied' ship is in a hangar ready to go, and the others are slotted away on some giant rack thing far from the docking bay maybe. I don't know.
I think it is the case that the transition from the concourse to the hanger bay is an instance transition point. I.e. you don't "move" from concourse to hanger, you despawn here and respawn there, and if there isn't an available pad in your instance, then you get spawned into a new one where there is. That means it's not possible to get blockaded on a station - you can always leave, just not necessarily instanced with the same people you saw before boarding the turbolift. If you switch ships from inter astra and run to the hangar elevators you can get a message about the ship being readied.
I assume the main issue is landing pad reservation logic - if you could select any ship instantly then the game would have to reserve up to 3 pads per player (one for each size of ship you have at the station) which would mean that in open just having a player on a megaship/outpost concourse could always reserve the large/medium pads if they have a ship of that size at the station (which due to apex is possible even without a shipyard nowdays).
