This tale starts off around 4 years ago.
A console commander, heavily involved in ALD's powerplay decisions, suggested a small system called Waras to expand the superpower in to. The suggestion was accepted and this is where our story starts.
The superpower successfully expanded into this small, backwater system two weeks later. As part of that expansion, the systems fortification requirements needed to be lowered through work on the BGS.
Waras had no player group to do this. The ALD commander volunteered to take on this lengthy task. In time, other commanders joined the cause. Eventually, a small but dedicated player group was carefully balancing over a dozen systems strategically.
After a long wait, our group was added into the game.
We took over systems for trade, we gained mining systems for bounties and we looked after these systems diligently for years. We successfully reduced the fortification requirements for the system, making life easier for all commanders.
Each move calculated. Each system hard won. New enemies, new friends.
And then the console commanders could do no more as their galaxy became ununified with other commanders.
This week, Waras is on ALD's turmoil list on console. Keeping this system the same will be completely unsustainable for our small player group who only play on console. It's a losing battle on a game where our time isn't valued any more.
Four years plus of our good work may soon be gone. A dozen people and thousands of hours.
This is the story of Empires Twilight, custodians of Waras and all her surrounding systems. Our dedication was complete for as long as our galaxies were one.
Let history show we blazed our own trail and our star burned bright.
We did our best.
Empire's Twilight, signing out.
