There was little to report in Cycle 397, hence no public update. Apologies. Cycle 398 was a week of two intense BGS wars. No BGS truce is being observed, and is likely unenforceable as powers don’t control everything, you know. Most players ignore what we do, as they scoot about; obliviously improving their ships, grinding, messing us about following some idiot on Reddit or YouTube’s advice for getting special modules, maybe even having fun?
The issue at stake was favourable (or not) triggers for a Hudson expansion, at some point in the future, to Yemotepa sphere. Despite huge efforts, the Feds beat us in Gendini over the full seven days. Powerplay is such that in that war we were fighting for a Federal faction, they for some aristocratic feudalists. Go figure. Fortunately we were able to bounce back and score a win in HIP 105557. Triggers remain in our favour, for now.
By our understanding, the truce has been negotiated up to cycle 402. Given the difficulties of vote control, leaky expansion attempts against very bad triggers are allowed. Winters’ attempt to Caspatsuria in this coming week fits that description. But Hudson’s new attempt to expand Ticua does not. We shall see what sort of signal Hudson wishes to send out to humanity.
In the Thargoid war, another positive week for Imperial Xeno Defence. After liberating Luggerates and HIP 7338 in Uncle Yuri’s space in Cycle 397, IXD saved both Vogulu and Muruidooges from the aliens. On the home front our vote held up well at 87%, and Aisling’s haulers again fortified all our top and priority targets. You guys rock. Objectives for Cycle 399 (until January 26th)
- Vote for Consolidation! Voting is the most important thing you can do for AD, so make sure to maintain rank 2! It only takes 100 merits and four weeks of pledge time. Here's where to vote in the UI. Early votes are the best kind of votes!
- Check the Trello for dynamic fortification targets! This is updated more frequently than the in-game menu. Please, ONLY fortify systems listed on the Trello. There are lots of top-priority systems left to help complete.
- Please do not prepare any systems this week. Spare media materials can be safely delivered to HIP 35209.
- Combat merits: oppose Felicia Winters’ expansion to Caspatsuria, and Zachary Hudson’s to Ticua.
- AX: the Imperial Xeno Defence target is to assist the liberation of HIP 2422. Evacuate passengers, kill thargoids, complete AX CZs. There are three starports: Speke Port, Drake Orbital, and Frobenius Hub (which is under attack). Also under attack is the planetary base Yano Enterprise.
