Xbox to PC Transfer

Im wondering about the short time to Switch from xbox to PC. I played this game since the beginning. I Was really that the console Version gets no more Updates like the PC Version. I spended much money and time in this game and its indiscutable when u missed the time to Switch After that you get the kick in the
I hope the next Transfer if its really happens is good like the old Transfer has been. I feel cheated about my time and hope in this game.
Hope dies last and make it better.

They have already split the game into 2 galaxies now and announced you will 100% not get the same copy system that they announced in June 2022...
original news post..
https://www.elitedangerous.com/news/console-profile-transfers-faq-and-expected-date (plus all the email) when they were copying to a single galaxy server... it will be stripped.. that's why they announced for people to get it done before the galaxy split in November update...

You will not get the same system and may have to wait till March 2023 as Q1 does not end till end of March... 10 months after the big how it would work june 2022 news post...

So its the best way to give the console players nö information what happenend by the next Transfer?
Maybe its my fault that im Not reading any Informationen about the Transfer. But i hope you ask you why.?
I had 2 Profile on xbox and PC so it would be good to get better Information for the Future should i push the Profile on PC now because i get nothing more from the console Profile or you give the information in Detail what we can Get in the Future. I think it isnt a really secret for frontier. Transparency would be fine for Elite dangerous and Frontier.

Yep, for console players (I was on PS4) I don't recall any information provided in-game (no comms panel entry warning the universe was about to bifurcate), and on the console there is no intermediate launch screen with lots of news links - you just click on the game icon, watch the pretty load screen and are then presented with the "Continue?" menu. By November I happened to be checking the forums regularly anyway, but I'm not sure how someone just playing console was expected to know. Unless my memory is playing tricks on me?

The transfers are down for now, I guess the best option would be to just wait for Frontier to announce how the new transfer mechanism will work and then decide what to do.

Every console owner registered an account with an email.. That email was sent messages but you had to read them and not have them blocked...
If you choose or dont get the emails so do not read emails you will not see the notification... the same will likely happen again this time in March
There's nothing to insure the owner of the game ever launches the game but your email is meant to be in use... and then follow links to read more about the updates to the game...
heres what one of the email stated last time... day before release..

CONSOLE COPY PORTAL OPENS TOMORROW

Greetings Commanders.

The time has come for our Console Commanders to join their PC comrades out in the black, as the Elite Dangerous: Console Copy Portal opens tomorrow.

To echo some of the core information from our previous posts around console to PC profile copying and what to expect, for your convenience:
  • The original console profile will remain playable.
  • Only one profile may be copied per copy of Elite Dangerous.
  • This will be a one-time only process.
  • The portal will remain open for the foreseeable future and Commanders will be given plenty of advance warning prior to decisions on when the portal looks set to close.

For the extended version with much more further reading, please reference the following post: FAQ
A few main points we would like to include ahead of schedule:

Which elements of my console profile will NOT be copied to PC?
  • Your Commander name if it is already in use by another PC player. You will be given the chance to choose a new name as part of the process
  • ARX Balance.
    • Please ensure that you purchase desired customisations before you complete the transfer.
    • Any unspent Arx will remain on your original console profile
  • Squadron membership
  • Friends lists, Block lists and Private Groups
  • Current mission progress
  • Fleet Carriers and their contents. Please see the fleet carrier section below for further advice
    • Fleet Carriers will not be copied over. Please decommission these ahead of going through the process so that your resulting Credit balance will be included.

Our estimated release of the Console Profile Portal is approximately midday BST, Tuesday 13th of September, however for accurate information based on the exact release, including live links to the Portal and Help Guide, please refer to our communications via the official Elite Dangerous Twitter, Facebook, Forums and Website.

Edit no idea why it pasted in some others commanders details... on my email address lol had to remove that lol

Just checked my email history and nada. I'm guessing I must have checked a "please don't send me stuff" box when I signed up on console - my bad.

Many thanks GraphiteGB, I had no idea this had been sent out - I'm relieved that Frontier did indeed reach out to console commanders, it did seem oddly bad form not to.

Listen, I'm sure that in good time that whomever will get around to doing account transfers again, I don't so much care about that though. Can I just get the PC copy of the game, and I'll start a new commander. I understand you'll need to make sure I have a copy of the game on Xbox but that's not a big deal.

Sure. You can buy it from various places...

Hmm. After further rummaging, the only email I have received from Frontier Developments was the one saying "Congratulations on linking your account" when I bought the game on PS4. That one made it through to me fine. I've double checked my settings on the Frontier site and I seem to be signed up for everything Elite:

Am I meant to be getting regular emails from them? I don't think mine can be going to junk, I usually scan my junk folder then manually delete. If I'm meant to be getting email updates I'll contact their account support and see what's going on.

Thanks

You want the PC copy of the game.... Nothing comes for free. (you've already missed that boat)
Two boats ... didn't Epic give away a copy of Elite Dangerous ... ?

And I think when the process is started up again to transfer accounts from the xbox to the PC all you'll get is the asset value in CR, just like it was done originally. So no progress, no cosmetics (paint jobs, bobbleheads, ship kits etc) you'll just get the CR value of the assets you own.

Edit: I had my account transferred from the Xbox to the PC and all I got was the assets + cosmetics and the account was reset. Which I was happy with as all I wanted was the CR and Cosmetics anyway as I've done more on the PC version than the Xbox version anyway, and both CMDRs had the same name anyway so ... ;)

But with the reset got the chance to start all over again ... which was kinda fun because now you know how to play and make CR things are a whole lot easier than they were the first time I played.

Epic paid fdev to release it as a gift on Epics store ... Fdev still got paid they never lose anything as a publisher they get paid in these very time limited deals...
Epic get a lot out of games as gifts on their store as it spams adverts at users that sign up for these gifted games...

The post was in response to someone else to make a point to the point they were making, that point being there was a time you could get a copy of the game for free to the end user which is why my response starts with 'Two boats' in response the their post which said 'Nothing comes for free. (you've already missed that boat)'.

if they do that i am going to throw my new 1070Ti (that i only bought for elite) out of the window. i am elite rank, i payed too much for arx for cosmetics and i am NOT going to do all the grind a second time, unlock all the engineers again, before i am able to fly decent ships. if so, i am done with the elite and play star citizen

I really don't see what the problem is ... I did the grind again when I started playing on the PC. It was much easier the second time around as I knew what to do and some shortcuts to get to Elite rank so I could, once again, have access to Jameson Memorial. I then hitched a ride on a Fleet Carrier to Colonia to do the engineers there and then hitched a ride back.

But like you I had cosmetics I'd paid for and didn't want to lose them so when the chance came to get them transferred I jumped at it, some didn't, just in case the option was removed from the table. So even though they said they'd leave the account on the xbox intact and still playable, mine got reset which I wasn't bothered about as I don't play much on the xbox any more. But I did take the opportunity to start the game again which was rather interesting. Didn't take me long at all to obtain an Adder which is where I stopped.
