Where's all my Palladium gone?

I loaded about 15,000 tons of palladium since yesterday evening, now all gone. And I only got to unload and sell about 12 tons. It appears it has all been sold at about 2,500 credits per ton.

Friends!

Update: I've had a reply from Frontier support. To paraphrase, oh dear, what a shame, never mind. Presumably suggesting it's a feature, not a bug.

Well, yes - depending on how you expressed your support request.
Because the bug is not the sell order remaining active, but the fact the sell order is not properly signaled as being active with proper color marker.

Note that you would be a lot less likely to be raided if you weren't uploading your own carrier data to the third-party websites that the public masses are using to search for the best deal...
It's one thing to make a mistake and another to broadcast it to everyone that could possibly take advantage of it.

Palladium goes like grass thru a goose right now. Yesterday, I shipped Palladium in a long-forgotten bywater system for about an hour when suddenly, a hollow dot appeared in Open. Yelling 'Once this gets dry, move over to the other starport!' And so it was. It took 30mins to have 2x20k Palladium resources completely drained. And the eerie thing is, there was nobody in Open except me and not other carriers than mine.

O7,

It is beyond bizarre that you can't setup orders unless the item is present. Ther are some weird UI choices in this game.
Well no, you can't sell something you don't have so it makes perfect sense that you can't set a sell order if you don't have the item. The problem is that if you did have items to sell, but then transfer them to your ship (rather than sell), the sell order stays but is hidden. As far as I am aware you'll see it again when you restock, but you would need to check the FC market.

You can set a buy order on items you don't have. So logically there isn't an issue. FD just need to clear any sell orders if stock level reaches zero.

Update 2: After asking support whether they consider this a feature or a bug, the answer is, "The buy and sell order system are functioning as intended".

So there you go. It's a feature! 😠

Well, that's a crock. Nobody would intentionally design it to work that way.
I don't recall if it makes a difference whether you clear out the stock by selling or by transferring but it matters not, because it CAN happen. And the simple truth is that if you end up with zero stock and a zombie sell order, you are quite likely (as many have found out the hard way) to believe the sell order is GONE. How FD can claim that's working as intended is beyond me.

Interesting. Logically it does make sense, though. You just have to remember to check if you previously had a sell order when you restock.

I suspect you won't be caught out by this again. E: D does have some harsh lessons. :ROFLMAO:

Indeed
The buy and sell order system is functioning as intended.

The bug is not displaying the Green Triangle marker for Sell orders with 0 stock

Why is that a bug? A sell order with zero stock doesn't make sense.

It does make sense.
For example if you keep exporting the same commodities (a miner for example, or someone selling mission reward commodities).
You may not want to reset your Sell orders every time (there are quite many mission reward commodities for example)
So you will just restock them

Without the marker showing Sell orders for 0 stock materials, you're left with guessing what stuff you just run out of stock... or to check the market.json file 🤷‍♂️

So don't place any orders at all, currently. Otherwise, it's Hordes of Locusts and you hardly can predict the outcome.

Sitting with 15k t of Palladium next to the Orodruin or how it's named and will deliver each and every ton myself, that is ;)

It is, because the sell order is still active, even tho i just run out of stock.
And if it's active, it needs to be marked accordingly in the Commodity market screen, with a green triangle.

And a last argument...
The Bartender market is actually functioning properly
Notice the Zero Stock for Opinion Polls but the Green Triangle Showing the Sell order is active and i just need to restock those (or stop the order if i never intend to sell them again)

Only the Commodity Market visual indication of Zero Stock Sell Orders is bugged. 😒
