Gen12 v2 still seems to be lowering performance significantly:

From personal experience with PTU/PU and the gen 12 settings on my rig...the new gen12 implementation lowers peak FPS but it remains stable at 65-75 across the board. Old 3.17 gen12 settings give a greater range (and fps drop) ranging from 35 fps or lower at busy centres like Area 18 up to the 100+ fps in quieter areas like space etc. What the 3.18 gen12 settings have done is even out the peaks and troughs making it a smoother experience albeit at a lower frame rate. I range between 65 and 75 fps throughout...which I suspect was the general aim rather than boosting fps 🤷‍♂️

Imagine defending a multinational corporation that says "playable now!" about its product, with the phrase "it's not really a product, they're trying to make a product, stop laughing and pay to support it it, you'll get a certificate if you give them enough money!".

Today's consumers are superb marks.
Always a point worth remembering for potential cult members...it's only a 'free-fly' if you don't spend any money in the marketing drive and ship sale that prompted the event in the first place ;)

Somewhat constant performance is way better thing than wildly varying.

Ahh, reminds me of the times of camping and midnight snacks. We didn't see the ant trail to the snack box until it was too late...

Haha, amateurs. In Australia you don't wait for the ant trails, the safest thing is to assume the ants are already there and so everything must be eaten and drank as quickly as possible, specially the drinking bit, that's the most important part!

In Finland at summer it is not the ants that ruin your picnic...its mosquitoes. And they make you their picnic feast :D

In the rest of the world, unlike Australia... the ants don't usually kill the picnicers and carry them off stuffed in the picnic hamper

Star Citizen is a broken mess because it's the greatest game ever made...

Round and round the pretzel goes ;)

I like playing as medic. I think this was utterly fortified with TF2. Sometimes you need a template for how to figure out to play a "class". And Valve really delivered on the templates. They gave them character like noone else and then put the proper soundtrack over it.

Ah, yes, "soundtrack". Did they finally figure out something more and unique than snore-fest epic music.

Brand new patch, just posted now:

Looks like they've just given up on the fixing the transit stuff for now...

Took the tram and then fell through floor, into the planet's interior. This doesn't look good for a build that has been in the oven for so long. (source)

(Another train-overlap death, etc etc)
