Glyphs on Guardian Beacons

Hi All,

Visiting a Guardian Beacon yesterday, and after collecting the Ancient Key, I decided to hand around to explore the device in a bit more detail. It has a moving ribbon of monochrome images, which pass behind various differently shaped apertures. There are some arresting images - particulary one with a clearly human face (centre of first image - open the full size image to see it). Is there any meaning or singifncance to these? I did a brief internet search yesterday but couldn't find any mention of them.

I am cataloging pretty much all of the things I find that fit into the lingual parameters of the species. I have been mapping the beacons for weeks. If you look Closely on the inside of the metal plates you will see whole diagrams. And on the wings you will find a triangular pattern that I believe to be either a math or a triangulation system.

Just a quick update. We are starting the suspect that these patterns are literal energy spectrographs created by the sounds of the devices we find them on. And the patterns seem to be related to how some of the structures were arranged. It’s still a work in progress.

Well if someone else is nerding out about the beacons, I will too.

I noticed the other day that most of the beacon's lit pattern is a combination of 2 patterns. You can see the 1st pattern on the device when it's powered down. The 2nd is actually a copy of the 1st pattern but lit up and scrolls. There's 2 screenshots in succession, you can see how the pattern moves to overlap. The inside of the part that you shoot does the same thing.

I was going to comment on the scratches in the 4th picture of the beacon, but the more I look at it, I'm almost positive it's a map of the guardian vessel site. 2 horizontal pylons at the top with the machine between them and 2 vertical ones at the bottom. Not sure about the middle 2, but the vertical lines match the central path too. I stole a picture of the site from a post years ago by TheOriginalB for comparison. There's also an image on the inside of the ancient key spout that looks a lot like a map too.

I love the images. I am on Xbox so mine aren’t quite that clear.
The scratches are a relevant part of what’s going on. I have some examples here. But what appeared to be scratches are actually what’s left of pigmentation lines. These things were elaborately painted and I believe the puzzle or the images were in layers. So the structure layouts were carved and then the process of how to use them was painted over the top. This is the impression I get from reading the logs about how they’re writing and art worked.
Using your night scope helps a little sometimes because it brings out things that are obscure.

That's pretty smart, just like how a lot ancient statues we think of as bare stone were actually painted with materials that didn't last to modern day. It also makes me think of the notes you see scrawled on the walls in zombie shows. A site like a beacon would be a great place to leave a message, but it wouldn't last as long as the wall it was written on.

An invite would be great, I'd love to see what you've pieced together!

im blaming clara (and her mindblowing fantastic work) for me slowly becoming a guardian nerd myself ^^

was there any progress on the items being fed to beacons? (i think i remember goid heart, some interceptor tissue and something?) ive seen only one mention of it a while back and then nothing...

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been a little critical of the developers in the logs over the fact that I have baked engineer instead of an archaeological team is handling this particular situation. In real life we would already have a group like the Smithsonian all over this guardian thing. And there would’ve been excavations and all kinds of things before the puzzle even became a puzzle. Alas it was not meant to be.
Space Bruce Lee in the Guardian laboratories at Cannon sent me this spectrograph of what I believe is one of the Guardian sites. I was taking LiDAR images at the time and it matched up with one of them. We plan to run more tests. This was just the first match.
A huge mission is getting underway in the next three days that travels out near beagle point to investigate the giant locked area there just to put to rest whether or not the area could be related to guardians. We will be looking for signs of guardian civ as well as Braintree’s. We have several carriers that have volunteered and we have room for more if you or anyone you know would like to join in.fyi.
