Summary
System: Eta Cassiopeiae
Station: Angus Manwaring (Coriolis starport, large pads available, 808 Ls from main star, 19.45 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Deliver exploration data (especially systems containing Amonia based worlds)
Time limit: 16th March 3309 @ 07:00 UTC

Description

Universal Cartographics has announced a two-week initiative to locate planets with ammonia atmospheres.
The survey was outlined by Cynthia Sideris, chairperson of Universal Cartographics:
Aegis has urgently requested an update to our database of terrestrial planets with ammonia atmospheres. It is no coincidence that each Maelstrom is located in a system containing such worlds, given that Thargoid biochemistry is ammonia-based.

We are therefore liaising with Aegis to chart as many ammonia worlds as possible. As well as contributing to xenological research, our intent is to identify potential staging grounds for Thargoid fleets and arrival points for additional Maelstroms.

Over the next two weeks, pilots can obtain increased payouts for delivering cartographic survey data to Angus Manwaring starport in the Eta Cassiopeiae system. Only ammonia world data will be recognised for the purpose of the survey campaign, however, with detailed surface scans particularly appreciated.
The most recent survey of this kind took place in 3306, when Sirius Atmospherics claimed to be developing a method of terraforming ammonia worlds for human habitation. Dr Maximilian North has since stated that the project is on hold following “practical obstacles impacting our ecosphere conversion theories”.
As an extra incentive for explorers, Universal Cartographics will offer higher payouts on exploration data for a limited period if the campaign ends successfully. The period length and payout multiplier is based on the campaign tier reached.
  • Tier 1: One week with a 2x value multiplier.
  • Tier 2: One week with a 3x value multiplier.
  • Tier 3: Two weeks with a 3x value multiplier.
  • Tier 4: Two weeks with a 4x value multiplier.
The campaign begins on the 2nd of March 3309 and will run for two weeks. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.
To be eligible for rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering Ammonia World exploration data to Angus Manwaring starport in the Eta Cassiopeiae system. Each Ammonia World scan is worth one contribution, or three contributions if a detailed surface scan was completed.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.

Notes:
  • Angus Manwaring is located at planet Feynman
  • Station Services: Commodities Market, Black Market, Shipyard, Outfitting, Repair, Restock, Refuel, Social Space

For some time I have a feeling something's fishy about the way these cg's run.
Players manage to hand in amounts they couldn't if they started the moment the cg was announced, as if they knew in advance what the cg will be and started early.
Now I'm sure this is the case, on Wednesday I was in a stream and someone was asked what the cg will be and his answer was scanning ammonia worlds, today I see he was correct, and already 30 minutes since cg started someone already handed 100 scans according to inara.
If a few players know such things in advance it gives them unfair advantage in cg's where there's a reward according to the tier they achieve.
I hope someone from fdev can give some explanation to what's going here.

The CG leaked yesterday around 15:45 UTC over the API. This normaly does not happen.
unless it is an AX bond CG, in which case some players will strategically dumb their hoarded bonds on the CG if the reward is the right one. But that has nothing to do with beforehand knowledge, just with the fact that bonds for CGs are not earmarked.

Is this the CG were personal reward tiers went nuts last time and gave new accounts fleet carriers last time over night...
Edit nope last time it paid peanuts...on personal tier rewards...
we got full engineered Detail Surface Scanner with twice the normal probe coverage last time...

Just a rerun of an older "exploration " CG how original ? Have fdev sorted out the extra payments so that it doesn't affect elite ranking( like the others ? ) ? It would be nice if Fdev made it first discoveries only so that the R2R wouldn't be used to report for the 100th time the same worlds .

well, you cannot redo your old trail from the first incarnation of amonia cg, the scans have to come from new (for you) systems...
so this time start from the other side of the bubble :)

It happens now and then that CGs leak early. Not often, but it happens. As far as hoarding contributions go, it is theoretically possible for exploration CGs, but those usually ask for specific scans, like the current one. I can't think of other CGs than AX where strategic hoarding happens on a grand scale.

Yeah it's only new to the commander hence why R2R ammonia route will get hammered rather than proper exploration . Hence the "exploration" CG .

Everyone reading this forum knows it since yesterday.
Not just the API. The content was in game yesterday, for about 15 minutes.

Bummer, I didn't see it in any of the three places until just now...but I didn't get to play yesterday anyway and tonight's not looking good either...

Hmmm, all three of my replied to's above have a Z in their forum handle...

Yes I assume this has to be the case, since the game doesn't even store repeated scans of bodies you've already scanned and handed in, as far as I remember.

However, for a CG like this, that whole concept is totally broken (in the game universe). Either they want truly fresh data, in which case only first discoveries should make the cut, or they are happy to accept data that has been handed in already (including to Angus Manwaring by many other players during this CG, or to anywhere else by any given player in days/years past).
It's somehow acceptable for a bunch of brand new explorers to hand in a nearby body hundreds or thousands of times but not for a seasoned explorer to hand in the very same body that they were already paid for in the past, because they can't. Bah. (Luckily I'm not a seasoned explorer :ROFLMAO:)

I can mentally overlook this for non-CG UC payouts (tho maybe I shouldn't be able to), but for a CG which is justified like this one has been, it grates.
