Theory: ED Rep Grinding

This is putting a theory into practice here,

Those of in this forum are a very opinionated group and we aren't generally afraid of making a statement (or so it appears). BUT, you are also a generally friendly group that are being intelligently vocal. I wonder how that translated to pointless points.

In much the same as a WoW or ESO you get the random 'gold beggars' asking for handouts. I wonder if this can apply to forum post rep? So this is a public 'beg for rep' on this post. I will rep back so it's not just pointless (pun intended), it's a rep trade.

If I've got several pips of rep, isn't that worth more than the rep that you're offering in return? The trade doesn't seem that worthwhile to me. Unless you throw in a unicorn mount...

That is, in fact, the point.

With all the negative posts a simply humor post to give a big of focus from the stresses of others. Sometimes pointless is needed.

That doesn't sound like 'pointless' at all - don't under-sell your ambition for the thread old bean! Although, I'd be intrigued how you'd apply CBT to an internet forum, not only because you can't 'observe' anything, but because CBT is based on behavioural change techniques. Discourse analysis on the other hand might prove interesting...
