Game Discussions The No Man's Sky Thread

No, it isn't.

It is expressing the freedom of choice - if something requires me to post / join a social media platform I have no interest in sharing data with, I don't.

YMMV, naturally.

ETA: as you appeared to ignore my comment which equated to "Meh, more of the same, maybe next time" there is even less reason for me to wish to acquire 'exclusives' that I have no interest in.

You haven't got to mid game yet have you. I don't think its possible to think badly of nms if you persist and advance to a certain point. Its much easier than elite even because there's actual gameplay in it, and its well maintained.

Sure you might not like the camp in your face hipster theme, but you probably wont speak bad of it. Same with subnautica btw.

What is mid-game?

I have a S Class Frigate with 30 support ships, a couple of S class ships - including the one with sails, several multitools including an alien one which is amazing, and bases on a few hundred planets.

The game still doesn't entice me to play it - but I do check each update, just in case.

I'm not the typical forumite here who needs to berate things they don't like about games... (sound familiar?)
The game just doesn't scratch any itch I have, but I'm sure others find it the best thing since sliced cheese.

No longer free to import ships from Expos to saves...
Costs nanites now boo...

It seems that I had completed the previous expeditions in a different account to the one that Steam will let me launch. My other steam account wants me to purchase NMS not borrow it.

EDIT - sorted the sharing thingie, now I have to start again I think.

Okay, apparently the playstation version has gyro controls to help with aiming. That was my biggest problem with the console version.. so okay i'll bite. My pc isn't enough for all the next gen effects from a few years ago anyway (turns out its cpu limited now).

Don't forget your twitch drops. They start today, continue for 5 days, you won't have problems getting them, and have a look at what they are.

I want to be sarcastic about how amazing and illuminated frontiers twitch offerings are..... people feel very strongly in defense of frontiers perfection. I hope everyone has some time to see what a lowly small team, barely an ant under lord brabens shoe, is able to manage. Go easy on them okay.

I had no idea that there were Twitch drops. Thank you.

the Wonders Catalogue shows off your most incredible discoveries, from tallest mountain to strangest creature, giving explorers a detailed record of their journey and allowing players to compare their records with fellow travellers.
This is like what I dreamed for the Elite Dangerous Codex, that'd give so much interest in going after every nook and cranny.

Not sure if this was planned or bug, but there's no anomaly station access in this latest Expo, so past unlocks that are collected from past expos/or twitch are not usable this time....
Even after I jump outside the starting system it won't spawn for me...
It's intentional that you can't do it in the starter system, but you should be able to get it after the first jump.

Thank you,
If you were having an issue check if its on the list...

Im having a better time getting to it on console this attempt. Probably compounded by the fact on pc it crashes on me while the starfield loading screen is occurring. Apparently i need to upgrade my drivers.. not just for that.

I can't though.. not going to abort hogwarts legacy, and elite is finally happy for me again in legacy.. will do the expedition (which is very very hand holdy this time, i like it) before it expires.

Also solved another head block.. i dislike the comically short day night cycles that developers still like doing.. i think im going to forgive no mans sky with the expectation that night scenes should look as good as the day.. especially with the wavy grass this can be the case. Maybe that will work. (None of the mental gymnastics i applied on odd ever worked, as you're trying to pretend you can play it, or bugs dont exist, not subjective things).

This expo has been tweaked to keep you in a single system It remains not standard game play... no hyper drive blueprint to way later means no leaving the system
but they needed to do some thing as hiding fetch quests over and over does require new ways at looking at things and adding new objects to get around missing locations...

Over did the engineering on a single stat for the ship way too much... lol

I had the infuriating "stops seeing controller" thing annoy the begeezus out of me yesterday. Is this just a Steam issue? Never had it happen when I used to play NMS loads a couple of years ago.

Another patch 4.12.1 - hopefully fixing that "controller disconnecting" nonsense. (Fingers crossed.)

Its intentional. E9 blocks us from the Anomaly (doesn't matter what system you're in). They have us building those specialty research stations for blueprints. Which is very cool, I want those things in my other saves :D

The anomaly is available after you complete the expedition.

I expect an increase in interest for NMS starting in October...

The guy walking into the rotating rings totally does not look like finding The Atlas....
