Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

So I have been playing for a couple hours and have not any issues with the gameplay I am interested in. None.

If the gameplay i was interested in was walking around lorville until I starve to death.

If I wanted to do anything else, it is embarrassingly and horrifyingly broken.

I am getting like 70fps walking around lorville though. touching 90fps every now and then. Which is probably the best fps I've ever had here/there.

Here's an interesting idea though. We know planets orbit in real time (with their own plane of gravity) in ED. We know there are some ridiculously close orbits in the game. Can we get a player on one body waving to another on a close body (with their own plane of gravity) that is close enough for you to see them (maybe via an executioner scope)? Would that satisfy you? :p
The CMDRs being on two separate physics grids (the planetary bodies) being able to see each other or not (dependent on instancing, asset draw distance, etc) doesn't prove that either/both/none their respective planetary bodies are children of the parent (aka nested) planetary body's (or star's, or star system's; dependent on the star system's layout) physics grid.

In your example, you'll be testing whether the two CMDRs can merge their instance bubbles together when their respective planetary bodies move close enough together, and that the draw distance and level of detail allows them to see each other. It's certainly a test I'd like to see, but if I get chance I'll ask one of the devs if they think it's possible.

FWIW we already know CMDRs can transition from one physics grid to another, with plenty of examples out there (one video of which already shared by Viajero), as do many other space games too (e.g. Hellion, Space Engineers, Outer Wilds)

you nerds are as persistent with this nonsense as star citizen 3.18. like an entity stream of some sort.

You sound like someone nursing disappointment of some sort. That's not the sort of emotion that someone used to stomping peasants for the lulz should have to put up with.

Can I you interest you in an Idris?

No disappointment. More irritation at the chatter when y'all dont really know what is going on.

If FDev had done a post like this talking about their physics grids, sure

if they havent and you have no insider knowledge of some sort you are just :poop: on this thread with page after page of nonsense.

Might as well post about astrology.

And I have plenty of idris's. I dont need any more.

Yeah they need more tech talks like the did early on with the making of the galaxy. I mean only 6 or so of us might actually watch them, but that's 6 that miss out at the moment!

How about a Legatus pack then?

I'll even throw in a free pysical Sandwurmie plushie - delivered on a FAT12 USB stick.
With Jupiter in competitive Aries at the start of the year until earthy Taurus takes over in mid-May, you start 2023 with a chip on your shoulder. Cancer, if you were passed over for a promotion or raise or didn’t get your dream job last year, you have something to prove, and this powerful, fate-fueled transit brings out your fiery side.

Expansive Jupiter goes retrograde in practical Taurus between early September and late December, causing a slowdown in the area of career growth and abundance in general. This means you’re probably going to have to try a lot harder to get that raise or promotion or perk, and even when you do put in the work, it won’t necessarily be rewarded.

the racing is interesting. and pretty funny it is all thanks to ed odyssey being terrible.

however, my plan was for beers and racing. took 5 hours to get to the racing. and the beers were going the whole time. so racing now is kinda rough.
