Jumping on Station Concourses

We cant use jetpack becouse of same reason why cant we ride a bike in house irl.
And we cant jump for safety reasons too. Stations usually have weak "gravitation".

How coincidental that just today I happened to be in a station with a couple of other commanders, and I thought to myself that it’s so good that we don’t have to put up with other commanders bouncing around like rubber balls all over the place, on the tables, etc. it’s definitely a wise design decision as far as I’m concerned.

Just the usual hand-holding regulations you find in a lot of games.
You enter the usual "base"/"HQ locations in games and a lot of features are limited or blocked.
Can't use weapons, freedom of movement restricted, item usage and such usually restricted.
RDR2 you can't use your weapons at camp, MH: World you can't use items or wield weapon in the town, etc. etc.
The Concourses are just for show, FDev doesn't want CMDRs jumping around and shooting NPCs and flying around the Concourse for whatever reasons they have (I say it's because they're fun police and boring old sticks in the mud.)
Though there are videos of players glitching out and floating around the concourse or using their weapons though they do no damage.

Basically, game developers are no fun and don't like players getting into hijinks and antics 😄

That's outposts, OP is talking about stations. 😜

But I agree that it's probably for the best, at least when other people are around.

Well the problem is, there is no gravity in stations either, you can't "jump" because "jump" implies a small leap into the air before being brought down by gravity, in a station providing a simulation of gravity by spinning, jumping into the air will just ends up with you flying upwards until you either hit the ceiling or the spin of the station brings you into impact with a part of the concourse moving in your direction. This could be the floor, or it could be a post, windows or anything else.

To maintain immersion if they allowed jumping in concourses FDEV would have to model this behaviour properly, which would be a pain in the space suit for all concerned.

It would still be nice to order a drink at the bar, if not for you then for a player that you really like.

There's been a number of times when someone has done a good favor, and my responses always owe you a beer if they ever allow us to do that.

Deep Rock Galactic is pretty good in that way, it's pretty funny actually.

In rotating stations it should not be a thing. No centripetal force, the bulkhead next to you is going to smack you in the side of the head.

On surface stations it should be a thing.

In small non rotating stations with no gravity, you would just hit the ceiling.
