voice control, expanding it

so as far as i know, i don't even use it right now, but i've seen people in videos doing it, there are voice commands for some of the ship's functions.

wouldn't it be nice if you could record your own voice commands for those functions, so rather than saying "engage frame shift drive" or "divert power to shields" you'd say "Engage!" or "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDKmSxJkOWA"

VoiceAttack lets you do exactly that. I have my FSD set up for "jump drive" voice command, my hardpoints are simple "weapons", target ahead is "target", "full engine power" for 4 pips on Engines etc etc.

Hi Avnas,

I was thinking of doing just that or getting my wife to say the phrases.)

I don't see why you cant because all you need to do is to use a mic and record the phrases then save them as .wav.

There are a lot of free sound effect on the net which you could use!

Certainly, as soon as I get time I am going to try to do just that.

There are some sound sets with lots of ED specific comments, over 1000 commands pre-saved as well. And lots of things thrown in for you to customize what is there. One with a sort of codex in it too.
VA make ED playable for me (I only have 1 working and on my off-side). I have 95% of the same running on VA

The Avias set has a Vulcan response set for the ship too

There are no voice commands built into the game. All of those videos you see of people using them are using third party software called Voice Attack. With voice attack you can program it to use and command you want.

Sound compilations are often an addition cost I think I got the VA and Avias for about 15£ or so

You can! With some time and a few free programs you can make a GlaDOS voice for example saying whatever you choose. A little messing around you can make some interesting voices. Just google GlaDOS voice attack and take it from there.

"Readings indicate a problem Commander...your brain appears to be off." hehe snarky computer.
