How South America got the most animals but still got shafted again

In that way, this is a example for the amazon animal pack:

  • Howler Monkey
  • Spider Monkey
  • Three-toed sloth
  • Southern Tamandua
  • Ocelot
  • Green Anaconda
  • Scarlet Macaw

@nutrit remembered me about Coatis so it could replace the ocelot or tamandua
Sorry but frontier isn't making habitat snakes that would so hard to make realistic animations for. I think a better pick would be a tegu or Alligator Snapping Turtle.

Oh, I’m perfectly happy with the lar gibbon. I might have slightly preferred a SA monkey, but that doesn’t make or break the pack or anything. Swapping the water monitor for something, anything from SA would’ve been great, though. But hands down my biggest issue is the sloth choice. We could’ve gotten a great SA species I would’ve used in every single zoo if we got a two-toed sloth, but we instead got something that is so restrictive that I consider it practically unusable.

Meh i don't mind that much about realism. I will use the sloth and i'm happy we got it. I would've prefered a bird instead of the monitor and a SA monkey instead of the gibbon. I also love the gibbon though. It looks really cute and its animations are cool. I can't wait to hear their sounds ingame as well. I'll probably use them more often than the siamang.

But also desert animals. As opposed to the Emu which barely lives in deserts.

The Emu definitely lives in desert, I am currently caretaking a property near the qld desert and there is an expansive amount of emus out here. Attached a map of recent sighting of emu in Australia from ebird, the darker the colour, the more dense the sightings. Definitely not "barely". Currently the emu population estimate Is between 500000 and 1 million birds

I think 1,5-2 out of 7 animals is pretty good as a SA portion in a grasslands dlc honestly.
Yeah but the reason i made this thread was because they failed to include any of the 2 grassland main stays and choose the least SA armadillo.
Dont forger that SA is half grassland, half tropical rainforest with a mountain range on one side.

I assume you mean rhea and mara?
I guess it was either emu or rhea since there was no way that both would be included, and they settled on the imo right choice.
Nine banded is THE armadillo and also the most flexible due to range and habitats so it was the obvious species of armadillo, to me atleast.
Mara would have been near tho

Personally while i love the emu id had prefered a rhea with the emu coming in a desert pack.
But like im not gonna be mad about recieving australias mvps, it still was a dissappointment that none of south americas grassland mvps where there.
But hey we also got 2 new carnivoras and a new wilderbeast, so thats something

It's actually quite interesting and a strange coincidence, but the 2 top contenders for South America that we're lacking or missing are monkeys and birds.

It's just a weird coincidence, is all. Makes me wonder if we'll get a South American Tails & Feathers animal pack, with the following:
  1. Howler monkey
  2. Spider monkey
  3. Squirrel monkey
  4. Bald uakari
  5. Currasow
  6. Greater rhea
  7. Horned screamer
  8. Scarlet macaw (WE)
  9. Blue-and-yellow macaw (WE)
  10. Military macaw (WE)
  11. Hyacinth macaw (WE)
  12. Spix's macaw (WE)

One can dream, right?

While I don't hate the monitor, it was just a weird choice of ''clone''. There is no reason they couldn't have gone with the American Flamingo instead.
For a ''clone'' that species would have done a lot to balance this pack better, and while not being a SA icon it would still help push the roster a bit in that direction. While the monitor doesn't really push anything and these two species would require the same amount of work to make in the end.

I think the monitor takes a bit more work having new diving animations and possibly even climbing animations. Another flamingo could act identical and no one would notice.

That the better clone requires less work to make, should just make it even likelier to be picked for the pack.
