Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

The performance by Raul Julia as Bison though was solid.
Yeah I think that was his last movie, I think he died shortly after of cancer. Good actor, and legendary in Adams family.

So I like going away and coming back to this thread every six months or a year and catching up on everything. Having just come back to it after reading Animal Farm, I couldnt help but think of CIG and relating it to the ending bit where all the animals are crowding the windows of the farm house (Backers) seeing the Pigs (CIG) meet with the Human Farmers (People who swindle money out of others) and the animals suddenly couldn't tell the difference between them. After this observation I kind of want to reread it with with this comparison in mind.

"Rrrikke Rrrakk" - is one of my fav quotes of Skaven characters in Total War Warhammer 2. It resonates with German tales where they go "ricke-rack" grinding Max&Moritz in the Miller's mill. Or it's like you use a bonesaw on a patient. Ricke-racke mit Geknacke. (Geknacke is the noise that's generated when stuff splits, splinters, bursts apart, breaks)

It is what I imagine is the general state of Star Citisn't.

Surely the version number is anything but 3.18.1 and 3.18.2 by now. Shouldn't all these little updates show up as 3.18.1354 etc?
The cinic in me thinks all these version numbers are arbitary.
It's kinda simple, really...any numerical value that doesn't include the number 4 as the primary. They just add numbers arbitrarily after the decimal point. The trick is to realise how many numerical values after the number 3 and decimal point there could be until Ci~G tick over to the 4...at the moment, we're on 3.18.x...then 3.19 and all the little .x's, then 3.20 and all the little .x's...

You can see where this is going...and it ain't anything that begins with the number 4 anytime soon. The idiot Roberts has an aversion to the number 4...back during the last long and tiresome road to the old version of the big 4.0 after the big old number 3.0, when they reached the magic number 3.9 and all the devs were talking about during every video and stage appearance was the big old number 4....we got the now infamous 3.10 instead ;)

Even dev nightmares can be marketing dreams...

I still can't decide if they're actively targeting the newer 'SC is a great $45 of jank' crowd, or just slowly being driven mad by the lack of deliverables ;)
What I saw was someone at CIG had to spend time doing these. How much $$ does these man hours spent doing promos cost in the half billion funded project?

Edit:
Did CIG ever gave a reason why they took out that promise to make the full accounting public if development fails? What year was that? I remember it was pretty early, If they removed it because of questionable expenses, then its proof they've been shady asince the early days.

What's his problem wiht the number 4? Does it get stale or something?

If you're talking about the bloopers-like end segment of the video, it's CIG knowing now they can make money openly trolling their fanbase. Fans gobble up so much Linda Lovelace would blush.
