General Carrier Long Range Route Planning

Carriers have been active well over a year.
I can take a regular ship & plot a 20k Ly route with no problem.
WHY can't we do the same for Carriers. Gets frustrating trying to
find a star a decent distance away in the direction we want to go!
I've tried some 3rd Party Route Planners but they can't seem to recognize
the system I'm in & instead thro up suggestions 1000's of LY away.
It can still have the 5 min CD & 15 minute Prep, but C'mon Folks!
Give us a BREAK!

For a start 3rd party route planners can only plan routes based on data that's reported to the 3rd party sites, so a) if you aren't reporting your data they won't have it to plot routes by and b) it isn't instant, it has to be updated through the internet so can take a while for a new system to enter the database the route planners are working from. If you are in an areas that's relatively unexplored and the data for the system you are in isn't yet part of the planner database then sorry, it can't plot a route from a system that as far as it is concerned doesn't exist.

Apart from that it's really easy to find a star a decent distance away that in the direction you want to go, just plot a course for your ship to where you want to go, then follow the plotted route until you get to a system the right distance away. You can place bookmarks the entire length of your journey doing that, it's not hard, but if you are in unexplored areas that's probably the best way to do it!

I still think Frontier should make a Route Planner like they did for regular ships.
Actually shoulda been implemented with the release of the Carriers.

Someone had said I could Prompt EDDN/EDSM with the Info. I see ED Discovery has sent in the info
to INARA, EDDN & EDSM already.

Good, but the routeplanner relies on a dump of that data being downloaded to the third party site to be added to their database for the route planner to work, and since that file can sometimes be gigabytes in size (depends on player activity) they don't do it immediately, it's usually done weekly from what I understand, so even if your system is added immediately to EDSM it may not show up in the route planner for a few days to a week, depends on what day they choose to do their updates.

As for whether it should have been implemented when FC's were released, I actually think this was a conscious decision on FDEV's part to not do that, so I doubt that's going to change.
