This moment will eventually come, The ultimate “meat-eating animals(not just carnivores)wish list (just habitat)”

It's finally 2023 and the new DLC is awesome, I love it.
Thanks to Frontier, to everyone who made and worked on this game.
Based on the earnings report, we know that Frontier will support the game at least until the end of 2023, and maybe even 2024.
So, I'm assuming we still get 3 more DLCs, maybe even up to 7.
And based on every DLC we get at least 1 carnivore, sometimes even 2. So I'm assuming we still get 15 carnivores max.
Now, I invite you guys to express your views on carnivores and make your list, but before that, I have laid down a few rules for clarity, please read carefully.
I know some dudes don't want any more carnivores, but take it easy, this is just a friendly discussion.
Thank you all

This is the rule:

1.Everyone can choose a maximum of 15 carnivores, a minimum of 1, note that it is a maximum of 15, not a minimum of 15.

2.This discussion only deals with habitat animals.

3.The list can only refer to the large animal groups that have appeared in the game (such as: cats, canines, bears, pinnipeds, amphibians and reptiles and flightless birds is OK...but eagles, cetaceans and fish are not allowed)

4.Your selection can be broad (like cougars) or down to subspecies (like tigers)

5.To be more interesting and precise, I divided the list into 4 categories, according to how much the participants like them and the likelihood of obtaining them.

(1)、The“must”:You like them so much and think we're bound to get them.

(2)、The“good”:You like them and think we have a good chance of getting them.

(3)、The“no bad”:You're not against getting them, but it's okay not to have them.

(4)、The“only myself”:You like them very much, but you know that getting them is almost impossible, and this is only for your own selfishness.(ps:I'd be more than happy if you could share your reasons for choosing this.)

Next, I'll use my list as an example:

The“must”:

Wolverine
Spectacled Bear.

The“good”:
Tasmanian Devil
Sand Cat
Ocelot
Pallas's Cat
Yellow-throated Marten
Walrus
Eurasian Otter

The“no bad”:
Asian Lion
Sumatran Tiger

The“only myself”:
South China Tiger
Asian Golden Cat
Fishing Cat
A leopard with the melanization gene.(India/Sri Lanka/Indochina/Javan/African)

My reason about South China Tiger:

As the oldest tiger and the origin of all tigers today, the current situation in South China Tiger is dangerous. Due to human activities, poaching, and habitat destruction, the South China tiger has become extinct in the wild. There are currently less than 260 living in China. in the zoo. All the current South China tigers are descendants of 6 tigers in the last century, so they have a high degree of inbreeding problems. From the appearance, if you don’t pay attention to the pedigree and breed at will, they will have such things as "thin", "bowed", "Short tail" and other issues. Frankly, it's pretty ugly.

Like this:
IF2wdeKA=c5vbp9h83pfzX7sGKUwnMMBO6RlfyG9W2Xc31539765689693compressflag.jpg

But please believe me, this animal is actually full of power and wild beauty. As long as the pedigree is well managed and the tigers with distant bloodlines are selected for breeding, then you have the opportunity to see its original appearance: large and conspicuous diamond-shaped markings, Stronger body, slightly reddish coat color and more obvious muscle lines.I believe that when my ancestors saw those strong and healthy South China tigers, they would think that they were a symbol of strength and courage, and imitate their appearance to make military symbols, which were used as tokens for mobilizing troops.

This is a Tiger Talisman from more than 2,200 years ago, and it comes from the country where the first emperor of China, Yingzheng, lived. It is now collected in the National Museum of China:

微信图片_20230414001532.jpg

At present, the weight of South China tigers in captivity rarely exceeds 180 kg, but according to the data records of the last century, it is not uncommon for large male tigers to weigh more than 200 kg. In other words, the genetic decline of the South China tiger is objective. So their situation is still not good.

But it has not reached the moment of despair. As China pays more and more attention to the protection of wild animals, a large number of national parks have been established one after another. Among them, the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park in Northeast Asia exceeds 14,000 square kilometers. According to monitoring, The number of wild Siberian tigers in China has doubled compared to 2010. Among countries with tiger distribution, only Nepal has achieved the same results. Of course, India's achievements are also very strong, but due to the large base, it has not achieved the goal set when participating in the 2010 Tiger Global Tiger Conference.

Although in the short term, due to a series of problems such as lack of sufficient habitats, the conservation of South China tigers still depends on zoos, but based on the successful experience in protecting Siberian tigers, I firmly believe that one day in the future, South China tigers will Reappearing in the wild, because of the language barrier, I also hope that more people can learn about the stories about South China tigers and help them when possible.

My reason about Asian Golden Cat:

This is also a feline that used to be abundant in my country. However, due to similar problems to South China tigers, their current situation is not good, but because small cats do not have as harsh requirements for the living environment as big cats, their numbers in the wild are still above the minimum standard. But you can hardly see them in the zoo. Among all cats, the Asian golden cat is a kind with strong reproductive ability. They can breed all year round. Female golden cats go into heat once every 39 days on average, and generally last for 5 days. - 7 days, the gestation period does not exceed 90 days at most, and the cubs can live independently at 9 months. But in captivity, all this becomes more difficult. Due to their very sensitive personality, golden cats in captivity often have accidents where males kill females during mating, and females occasionally kill males. Even if they are successfully pregnant, Females may also kill cubs due to external stimuli. Based on this fact, as far as I know, there are only three zoos in China that have them, and there has been no news of successful breeding for many years, and in Europe, only zoos in France and Germany have them. Southeast Asia may be better, but North America You won't see them in the zoo.

The current solution is to imitate the captive breeding experience of the equally sensitive clouded leopard, either artificially fertilizing or living together when the male and female are still cubs, but the situation is not optimistic due to the small base. The latest breeding in Europe comes from Two cubs were born using artificial insemination at the Wuppertal Zoo in Germany. So I hope that more people will learn about this beautiful and mysterious animal, which may help them.

Furthermore, the Asian golden cat has the most variety of fur colors in the cat family. According to statistics, there are as many as 6-8 species. I really hope that more people can see it. By the way, Asian golden cats have been found many times in Chinese wild giant panda reserves, and at some higher altitudes (the highest recorded at altitude 4300 meters), and there are their shadows in areas with colder climates, so it is not a tropical cat, but a cat that can adapt to the Asian alpine coniferous forest area under suitable conditions.

I took this photo from the Chongqing Zoo in China. This male is very good-looking, strong but not bloated, but he is very shy. I waited for 2 days before I photographed him out in the early morning.

My reason about Fishing Cat:

This kitten was chosen because it is so unique, especially its paws. Its claws are both non-retractable like a cheetah and webbed like a Sumatran tiger. As the most water-dependent cats, they spend most of their lives in close proximity to water. And it's not hard to see them in zoos either. I believe it will be very interesting to design suitable exhibition areas for them.

My reason about A leopard with the melanization gene.(India/Sri Lanka/Indochina/Javan/African):

The reason is very simple, as the title says, I want a leopard with the melanization gene, but the Amur leopard doesn't have it, so I want another leopard. Based on the fact that Arabian leopards, Persian leopards, and North China leopards also have no reliable melanization records, I have targeted African leopards, cheetahs, Indochinese leopards, Sri Lankan leopards, and Javan leopards. (PS: There seems to be a melanized Amur leopard in the American zoo, but according to some disclosures, this leopard should be mixed with other leopard subspecies).

Come on y'all, have some fun. Why post here if you aren't gonna participate or just gonna be sarcastic about it?
Anyways, onto my list. Since you said mammals and birds, I'm gonna assume reptiles are allowed, too:

The“must”:You like them so much and think we're bound to get them.

The Must
  • Tasmanian devil - the largest predatory marsupial alive today
  • Secretary bird - a lovely terrestrial falcon
  • Wolverine - a powerful musteloid that can take down a moose
The Good
  • American black bear - despite people saying it's "boring" the ABB is my favorite species of bear and would bring so many color variants that none of the other have (including the red-colored cinnamon bear. Beat that, spectacled bear, with your nerd glasses). It's the last key essential North American species
  • Spectacled bear - y'all must think I'm crazy if I neglect the spectacled bear. I want both, y'all
  • Raccoon dog - the fox-raccoon hybrid, I'd love these little guys to run around my Japanese sections
  • Argentine black-and-white tegu - the monitor-like lizard from Argentina. Technically it's omnivorous, but many of the carnivores in the game are omnivores anyways
  • American flamingo - these birds grew on me and their scarlet coloring would contrast the light pink greater flamingos nicely
  • Ocelot - the mini-jaguar, a cheaper alternative to the big one
  • Sea otter - bring me sea otter or bring me death
The Not Bad
  • African dwarf crocodile - our African member for the crocs and not all at like any of the other ones
  • Serval - our little weirdo cat of joy
  • African palm civet - nothing at all like these
The Only Myself
  • North American gray fox - my favorite animal (tied with the Thylacine), I'd love the gray fox for their beautiful gray and bronze coloring as well as their unique ability to climb trees
  • Sunda Island tiger - to represent the 3 ex-subspecies of tigers on the islands

So the only qualifier here is "habitat animals that eat meat?" Odd way to make a list if it isn't focused on members of the actual order Carnivora.
In fact, at the beginning I set the selection range within the range of Carnivora.
But then considering the fact that we already have monitor lizards, crocodiles, and some large birds in the game, I expanded the selection. The reason for this is that I want the guys to express their desires as much as possible.
For example, if some people want Secretary Bird, I see no reason for me to say no to them.

I’m sorry but I’m a simple creature, I see no difference in tiger from country one and tiger from country two, just differen size and name.

Boring
well,to be honest, I thought about replying to you for a long time, I didn't want to initiate these boring conversations. But considering that some people may be misled by you, I think it is necessary to reply.
Firs, I have stated in my speech that this is just a friendly discussion. If you don’t want to participate, you just don’t have to participate. There is no need to define “boring” for normal discussions in the community.
Secondly, regarding tigers or other animals that appear as subspecies in the game, I have made it clear that this is my selfishness. If you can read carefully before speaking, I think this will not cause you trouble. Knowing what other people really think, whether in reality or online, is the basis of communication.
In the end, I want to say, it’s like you move to a new city, after you settle everything, you warmly invite your neighbors to your house to get to know each other better, according to my observation, no matter It is welcome in any country or culture. And if there is a person who makes a negative judgment about you such as "boring" before going to your house and getting to know you, and says it out loud, I don't know what it means in your country or cultural background I don't think so, but IMHO this is seen as rude and rude in many places I've been where different languages are spoken. Believe me, whether you are a simple creature or a complex creature, this is not wise for you, I sincerely hope you get over it, good luck.

Thanks for the reminder, I've added Amphibians to the options.
And,my dude,I'd love it if you took the time to sort your list by "must", "good", "no bad" and "only myself".
Of course, if you don't have time to do these, no problem, I will put them in the table based on the total percentage. Thank you for your participation.

I tried to go for as much biodiversity as possible. Here's mine:

The Must:
  • Tasmanian Devil (High up on the meta wishlist and most likely to be the flagship animal for an Islands or Oceania pack.)
  • Wolverine
The Good (One of my main criteria for this category is the preexisting rig for these species):
  • Pacific Walrus
  • Sea Otter
  • American Black Bear
  • Nile Crocodile
  • Coyote
  • Secretary Bird
  • Shoebill
The Not Bad:
  • Ocelot
  • Black Caiman
  • Kori Bustard
Just Me:
  • Serval (I have a nostalgic attachment to them.)
  • A third species of penguin.
  • Bat-Eared Fox

  • Sea otter
  • Perentie
  • Sloth bear

The not bad:
  • African civet
  • Bush dog
  • Serval
  • Black backed jackal

The idc i don't want:
  • Tanuki
  • Coyote
  • Any other tiger or wolf subspecies
  • ABB

Sticking to true carnivorians, and in no particular order -

  • Spectacled Bear (with Paddington 3 coming out, this feels very obvious)
  • American Black Bear (let's get those color variants!)
  • Pallas's Cat (og grumpy cat)
  • Ocelot (South America needs an arboreal predator)
  • Serval (them ears!)
  • Walrus (them tusks)
  • Yellow Throated Marten (You've turned me on to them. I'm on team marten now)
  • Black footed ferret (Huge conservation story, plus a great addition to any NA zoo)
  • Wolverine (not hugely fussed about them, but I'll give the shout out for those who want them)
  • A temperate otter species (North American or European)

All right.

The Must:

  • Wolverine
  • Tasmanian Devil

The Good:
  • Secretary Bird
  • Ocelot or Margay(take your pick, but one of these has to make the cut)
  • Lace Monitor(but really any large land lizard would work)

The Not Bad:
  • Little Blue Penguin
  • Asian Golden Cat
  • Jaguarundi
  • Sea Otter
  • Serval
  • Roadrunner
  • Asiatic Lion

The I don't care if you don't but I really want:
  • Black Caiman - my favorite crocodilian, but since we already have 2 caimans...
  • Iberian Lynx
  • Red Wolf - probably too similar to the Timber Wolf to have a realistic chance in game.

Split my species into three different categories given I found that easier. Only ended up with 5 out of 15 species being carnivorans lol but there's not much else from the group that I'm super keen for.

Must-haves (species both I and many people in the community consider essential):
1. Tasmanian Devil
2. South American Coati (how have coatis not been mentioned here yet?)

Good Additions (species that aren't essential but most of the community would not be against):
3. Northern Caiman Lizard
4. Perentie
5. West African Slender-snouted Crocodile
6. Red-legged Seriema
7. Little Penguin
8. Spotted-tailed Quoll
9. Serval
10. Yellow-throated Marten

Personal Favourites (species that are either little-known to or would not be welcomed by most of the wider community):
11. Freshwater Crocodile
12. Chuditch (duh)
13. Rakali
14. Australian Sea Lion
15. Leopard Seal
