Ah, i remember faithful declaring you don't do stuff like tutorial missions until after alpha, because everything can still change, and its just a waste of effort. Its just for testing, not playing.
Perhaps they should tell CIG.
Noticed Captain Richard was streaming Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Someone in his chat asked why he wasn't streaming SC. He laughed. Said he's uninstalled it, it's "unplayable".
He's clearly a "hater", that Captain Richard.
lol, most every game i play anymore is early access. granted all of them are much more playable.
I remember spending days in the procedural dungeons and my computer couldn't handle the 3d map without sometimes crashing the game so these floor falls usually brought me some much needed closure from some of the most tense and creepy gameplay I ever experienced.Bethesda perfected falling through the floor with Daggerfall back in the 90's. Starfield will be way ahead of SC!
True indeed. That which never lived can never die.
He is careful to avoid the S-word, though.![]()

I see a lot of tension of the state of the game right now. I think stress testing and gathering data to improve the game is fine, and CIG has expressed that is what they are doing. But how can we...robertsspaceindustries.com
“Showing a game that does not represent what the game is right now, we cant defend the state of the game as a Data collection stress test while also being fine with a commercial tricking new players into thinking this is a game the resembles what is seen in that ad.”
It’s almost as if this already released game (in early access) needed the usual widespread game press reviews / scores.

Either the faithful don't understand game development or its CIG who doesn't understand,Ah, i remember faithful declaring you don't do stuff like tutorial missions until after alpha, because everything can still change, and its just a waste of effort. Its just for testing, not playing.

Indeed. Although one can have some leeway when you are under a non released still crowdfunded scheme. Not the case of SC anymore though as the base game (the PU) is a released product and has not been crowdfund based for a long time. But this has been the modus operandi now for many years. Presenting it a playable product but using the "its alpha" or "you're meant to be testing it" defenses the moment there is any criticism.
True indeed.
Although Star Ctizen has been officially released (in early access) and it is sold as PLAYABLE NOW. It is a regular product like any other, sold as is.
Unmatched is all I think of when I read that bit.Going on about the thing that's "unmatched by other games"... yeah no..sorry CIG firstly other games do have it, there are entire open frameworks available for free from those games and they don't prefix their broken implementation with ALPHA to hide the fact they are unable to implement it in any firm of consumer level quality.

But how could you call this mess playable now?If CIG are running ads suggesting it is playable now, then I say that counts as a release and therefore the gaming press should be rating it as a matter of consumer responsibility.
