Now we need the modern version of "The Movies"

So, first you made the modern version of roller coaster tycoon, then the modern version of zoo tycoon
Are you the heroes that's gone a make a spiritual successor of the unique 2005 game "The Movies"?

That was Lionhead. Pretty good concept and decent gameplay. The editor and the films were a bit thin, i foumd it enjoyable most just running the scenes on auto.
Creative quality of the movies was mostly a composite of skills and novelty, not a bad system. It is definitely a game to build on.

What's funny is after playing it, years later seeing all these mobile esq game dev tycoon style games I remember thinking how they were just quick low effort versions of The Movies but not as deep or intricate.

I liked actually being able to create your own little movies in addition to the business management layer and the park building.

Thinking about it, itmight be the type of thing that would be right up modern Frontiers alley.

Maybe, they like doing creativity games and builders. I'd hate to see it become a prop decoration sim, though.

I still play it some times.

I dunno if The Movies (2005) sold enough copies to make a sequel.
