New World / Old World Animal Packs

Amazing picks, the composition is very Frontier-like, with some new rig animals and also some easier to make with already existing rigs.

I could go withouth the Wild Boar, but I understand that there should be European representative.
I am saddened that there's a european rep but no Oceania rep.

Oceania (along with Antarctica) isn't considered to be part of the New World (the Americas) or Old World (Afro-Eurasia) under most definitions, hence why other people in this thread have included animals from Oceania in either pack.

Oceania is part of the "New World", as I understand it.

Although I think that desert/drylands and mountain/highlands packs are the most likely to happen, I've been thinking of what else could Frontier do this year if they want to try something different. The lack of habitat animals from South America in the tropical pack made me wonder if they are planning something else based in South America, so the idea of having the two animal packs of 2023 based on New and Old Worlds started to round my mind, with the New World Animal Pack releasing first.

I won't include birds in the walkthrough exhibit since nothing so far shows that Frontier is going to take that route.

New World Animal Pack
  1. Howler monkey
  2. South American coati
  3. Andean bear (or American black bear)
  4. American flamingo
  5. Patagonian mara
  6. Ocelot
  7. Sea otter (or North America river otter)
  8. Any American bat
Old World Animal Pack
  1. Crested porcupine
  2. Hamadryas baboon
  3. Great white pelican
  4. Wild boar
  5. African spurred tortoise
  6. Markhor
  7. Dromedary
  8. King cobra or chameleon
Good idear, bad execution on the new world pack.
That isnt a new world pack, thats a south america pack with one north american attatched to it. The easiest fix would be to change the spectacle bear to the american black, making it a "fair" 2 northamerican, 3 south american and 2 both.
Id also dump the otter or bear for the white tailed deer, as it inhabits both continents, would be a clone production wise and add an ungulate to a so far ungulate free pack.
Another good option would be the collared peccary, both coming with the additional bonus of representing the drier parts of north america.

Old world i got no complains, nice mix of areas and biomes and all of them are top picks to make it to the game. Neat!

I did think about the peccary, but since the wild boar is in the other pack I didn't want to include 2 pigs. I also listed the American black bear as an alternative to the Andean bear precisely to balance the SA/NA.

However, Ocelot and American flamingo are found in North America and the bat could probably be also North American. So my pack proposal included 3-5 North America animals and 5-6 South American animals. The North American animals I want the most are also found in Eurasia, so I couldn't include them (Wolverine, Walrus, Muskox).

A combined old a new world pack is pretty much just 'anything goes except oceania'
Sure, I mean arguments could be made for sub-saharan Africa and South East Asia as well, but sure.

This was more of an excuse for cramming needed Middle East and South America species into one theme.
