I received message "Discovered Logs" with 3 messages from Aegis, they work on modified enhanced xeno scanner to scan Titan.

They also think the Kingfisher was enough of a valiant attempt at communicating with the Thargoids, and have now effectively shut that door firmly showing that pew pew is the only way forwards.

It has always been my belief that Aegis is a science initiative first, and a military research programme second. i admit to having a personal dream of true communication with the Thargoid. But the past few months suggest that the Thargoids are sadly uninterested in opening a dialogue with humanity.

'Shame that one ship we sent didn't work, might as well just shoot them'... :(

Aside from being pretty sad reading that bit I think the messages themselves are a great thing. It's really nice to have them voice acted, and it's a really good way of summarising things for people and laying out what's to come. Especially as I was imagine the majority of people either struggle to remember, or just weren't aware of the Aegis specific goings on over the last couple of years.

So having listened to it again, the overly sinister voice over is giving off the perfect evil corporation vibes.

I have never trusted Aegis since they first came on the scene, they are just INRA in a modern day form. But to refer to yourself as the "Aegis family" is about as big of a warning siren there could be. If you couple that with the fact that they're now able to act completely independently of the Superpowers, and they have access to Seo Jin-Ae, then I think we should be very concerned indeed.

who was it trying to lure the Thargoids to Earth years ago?

Oh that totally wasn't me on one of the livestreams, getting Ed to activate an Unknown Probe in Earth's orbit...

That's one way of putting "their budget is significantly smaller this time round", certainly.

and they have access to Seo Jin-Ae, then I think we should be very concerned indeed.
Aegis is probably the best place for Seo Jin-Ae at the moment - they'll keep her alive just to spite Azimuth, and she can provide insights like "they have developed an advanced set of concepts called 'inside' and 'outside'" and the rest of the family will say "amazing, do you think we could develop an 'inside' for humans too one day?" and actually mean it.

Meanwhile their actual research into Thargoid strategy has stalled at "Seo Jin-Ae assures us that they have one and eight Maelstroms showing up at once isn't coincidence, though we're still looking for evidence to confirm this", while other groups have managed to get enough understanding of their plan to start effectively countering it.

As with the original Aegis, plausible front group for releasing of technology developed more quietly elsewhere, I think is most likely.

Azimuth would also probably just cut her open after subjecting her to a few less-than-pleasant ‘tests’ to figure out how the Thargoid implant(I presume it’s based off of Thargoid tech, anyway) does its thing, then do it to more people when they know how it worked for her and for no other of their subjects(blergh).

I doubt that Aegis is hatching out any devilish plans à la Salvation at the moment, either. That’s not the MO.

This public statement feels a lot like talk to keep the public happy instead of what she would like to say. I don’t think the peace sentiment would come on too strongly with most, at the moment, either.

Oh, and monthly reminder to not let Nemesis sink into the murk. Seeing as apparently, Aegis’ public side of that investigation has stalled at ‘Following the visit to Pranav, we made a few inconclusive statements and didn’t say whether we’d look into it more’.

Could we get some research into why this could possibly be the case? Maybe that would help. Maybe start with what we already know without having to ask for it to be spelled out again.
Because FDev really, really hated the fact that some people thought the "good" ending to Frontier: First Encounters was the ending where the Alliance achieves peace with the Thargoid, and they want to bury that idea forever.

I would like to report as spam these 3 messages.
Indeed, they do not contain a quest to collect a reward so I don't care.

It's of course pure coincidence that power regulators have been offered for slaves recently.

They might have it set to deliver only to accounts that previously worked for Aegis. Might have to check with my alts later.
Shouldn’t be the case if it’s a public broadcast.

That said, could be another of those cases where it’s only sent out to players for a day(eg yesterday). I think that was the case with the message from Tanner asking for assistance with Seo’s whereabouts. What a big hunk of nothing that turned out to be. I still think that ‘clue chasing into a dead end’ could have been handled a lot better than having the True Chapters just pop up out of nowhere like they know Seo personally or something.

Doesn't rule out someone hitting the wrong button.
