Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Crytek reserved the right to re-open some form of legal action at the close of the last hostilities if I remember rightly...all tied into some non disclosed revelation regarding Sqn 404 🤷‍♂️

That was before the settlement. They were looking to 'pause', and then bring proceedings back again if CIG ever managed to actually launch SQ404 ;). The settlement should have put all that to bed though.

Think if there were any legal snuffling it'd be something else. Like Oldman demanding his likeness back or whatever ;)

(I'd say chances are it's still just a price ramp or something. Although does seem a bit odd to mothball it for this long.)

My kids are all in their 30's...waiting around for me to curl up my toes to see what I'm going to leave them :D

My guess is SQ42 is not making much money and is not in a good state development wise. I suspect it will be rebadged as a method of entering the SC PU. That way it can fall under the PU as an apparently endless Alpha and avoid obvious review bombs. Ships earned in SQ42 could also attract lower reclaim timers which would make SQ42 attractive.

The annual Lirik streams are the best:

"I don't think they updated the NPCs yet..."

How wrong you are dear Lirik...

Dec 2018
"NPCs at Lorville should no longer be standing on benches" - 3.4.0

May 2019
"NPCs should no longer occasionally be standing on seats rather than sitting." - 3.5.0

May 2020
"AI should no longer stand idle on chairs and benches." - 3.9.1

August 2020
"Fixed an issue that was causing NPCs to stand in place on seats around the PU." - 3.10.0

Mar 2023
"Fixed - AI - Multilocation - AI Standing / Crouching on Benches Throughout The PU" - 3.18.0 PTU

(Probably missing another half dozen there...)

After many immersion timers, Grumpy somehow contracted the invisibility bug and is now done with 3.19...

Quick Star Citizen update, and why this channel is going to change directions. It's still going to be gaming related content though, and I will still cover Star Citizen, but as an outsider because I simply do not posses the patience of a Jedi master to play this game.

Yesterday I got an urge to play Star Citizen off stream. The ASOP terminals didn't work, so I couldn't store or claim my ships. So I logged off with my Carrack in the hangar of port Tressler. It was full of loot and had 3 vehicles inside of it (sub armor too, not that I care about it at all)

Today I log in, the ASOP terminals worked, but my carrack was apparently destroyed, so I lost all the things I gathered yesterday. Fun times!

So I spend 20 minutes going to New Babage to claim a Reclaimer so I could try the salvage missions and the progression that comes with it. Why 20 minutes? Well I had to claim a ship, and I needed to buy a ton of stuff that I needed.

So I go to NB and I wait for the ridiculously long claim time for the Reclaimer. I wait for the ridiculous jump time between Microtech to arc L5 with a stock QT drive.

I managed to eat, take a crap, and watch 2 youtube videos before I got there. I got to the salvage claim, and as I get out of the pilot seat my character disappears.

Idk if I should tell you that you can't control an non existent character.

So I tried everything... emotes don't work since the character is not there, and to cut the story short, the only thing that worked was the torch that was being emitted from thin air.

Naturally, I try logging off and on again, and naturally the game puts me on another server and I spawn back at Microtech.

So I think I'm done with 3.19.
I guess it would be funny to you, seeing me angry and rage quitting, and the sad thing is that I really wanted to play SC, but it's like a toxic relationship. You come back to her/him and they promise they'll be different, but you're met with all the old crap + some new crap that you didn't see before.

Playing SC is like a toxic relationship. You come back to it over and over again, because they tell you they have changed. And then you encounter all the bullcrap you had before + some new crap that you have never seen before. And the truth is, those kinds of relationships are bad for your health. And as soon as you move on, the better you will be.

As I've said, I'll still cover it, but I haven't played it off stream for more than a year now, and I guess I'll keep not playing it until it actually starts getting better.
