Essential European animal wishlist

Both polar bears and walruses live in Svalbard, which is Europe. I agree that these two animals aren't the best representatives for Europe, but they are European. Same as Barbary macaques, they only have a small part of their range happening in Europe, which is enough to consider them European.

It's not just limited to Svalbard either; the Barents and Kara Sea population, which includes Svalbard, is mostly within the boundaries of Europe. While Svalbard belongs to Norway, the rest is mostly within European Russia.

When we think of Europe we tend to think of more populated areas, but in reality Europe is far bigger than that. You can compare the two maps below.

@Matyej167 in my post, I put Iberian heterogenous cattle. How come it is not on the list above?

Domestic animals should absolutely be allowed, considering how much of livestock agriculture as influenced European culture and history. If the Llama can come in SA Pack, something like a Highland Cattle could make it into a pack like this.
It depends on the animals.

I think a Llama and Dromedary are iconic zoo species.

I don't think cows and domestic cats and dogs are good choices AT ALL.

Some domesticated species are clearly better options than others. I would LOVE wild yak, or wild turkey. I would also HATE domesticated turkeys and domesticated yak

I dont think anyone talks about cats, dogs and dairycows when domestics come up. scottish highland cows and nubian dwarf goats are more along what is suggested as domestic species.

Edit: And against whats ive have seen mentioned some domestics actually have a conservational value. Since the big scale industrialsation of the foodproduction in vast parts of the world, many traditional breeds of lifestock are going "extinct" because noone breeds them anymore. So zoo actually play a big role in keeping those various breeds around

Not really. Barnyard animals are a fixture of zoos all over the world, including run-of-the-mill dairy cows, sheep, chickens, ponies, donkeys, llamas, and so on. Not to mention, most turkeys and yaks and so on in zoos are domesticated because they're more accessible and can often be acquired through livestock markets.
