Summer DLC Speculation 2023

Well... it's a good pack 😅
Insted of Arid animal pack, it should have been named African animal pack or African deserts animal pack, to be honest 😂
I love all the animals, specially the porcupine and the rhino, but maybye is a pack too focused on Africa and Ungulates. All besides that, it's a good pack.
I'm starting too loose faith on birds 😥

It is clear to me now that the packs this year are supposed to be ‘part twos’ to the packs of 2021. The Tropical Pack brought us the Lar Gibbon and a tonne of Southeast Asian scenery to balance out what was missing in the SEA Animal Pack.
The Arid Animal pack introduces an overwhelming majority of North African species, to pair with the North African scenery we got with the Africa Pack that summer. I remember distinctly people complaining that we got little to no North African species to go with the scenery we got, so this shows that Frontier is listening.
This means that the next two packs of the year will likely introduce us to some North American scenery in October and (hopefully) a lot of European animals in the winter. If I’m correct with this theory.
I’m pretty disappointed with this pack, but I wasn’t expecting anything amazing this time around. I’m just glad we got the Porcupine! But what I am happy about is what this signals for future packs, and it shows that Frontier is listening (even if they DO hate monkeys and birds).

They better not forget the SA animals for the SA scenery

as much as i want the african wild a.s.s, it is still an equus, so according to this logic it will be our third equus in the game after zebra and p horse, while all three rhinos are in a different genus, meaning they are less related.
Definately not the way I look at it, but everyone has a different preference.

each species has its own advantages:
  • cape/south african crested is the biggest and screams most subsaharan african of the three being from east and south africa (basically what we think of when we think africa/savannah/safari), best interspecies bonus candidate with meerkat and the most common african porcupine in zoos worldwide
  • indian crested is the most common porcupine in eu zoos and along with cape the most common zoo porcupine worlwide, also is the most european for being found in the aegean sea coast (if north african porcupine's italy range is not native like marvinb said), it adds to middle east and india rep and also adds the most biomes
  • north african crested is the least common porcupine in zoos worldwide, its eu rep is questionable due to nativity question and is also not as african as cape, but it does have an advantage in terms of interspecies bonus if added with african spurred tortoise, also adds many biomes like indian
its interesting how the biggest advantage to north african is spurred tortoise for interspecies bonus, but it isn't even in the pack!

I see the logic, but personally I’m desperately hoping we don’t get a NA pack “part 2”. The Arctic Pack and the better part of the Twilight Pack were already that. Just give us South America part 2, Frontier.

I think a mountian pack could bring the NA scenery in form of cabins and lodges and stuff, also i think there is still plenty animals for a desert scenery pack with wild west scenery
