Summer DLC Speculation 2023

Good pack! I think it got some solid picks and it covers a lot of the missing african animals. I myself would've replaced the Dama Gazelle with the Hamadryas baboon(Honestly, kinda of a missed chance there) and replace the Sand cat with the collared pecary(Sorry, just not a huge cat fan) Still overall good pack with nice animals :)

It is clear to me now that the packs this year are supposed to be ‘part twos’ to the packs of 2021. The Tropical Pack brought us the Lar Gibbon and a tonne of Southeast Asian scenery to balance out what was missing in the SEA Animal Pack.
The Arid Animal pack introduces an overwhelming majority of North African species, to pair with the North African scenery we got with the Africa Pack that summer. I remember distinctly people complaining that we got little to no North African species to go with the scenery we got, so this shows that Frontier is listening.
This means that the next two packs of the year will likely introduce us to some North American scenery in October and (hopefully) a lot of European animals in the winter. If I’m correct with this theory.
I’m pretty disappointed with this pack, but I wasn’t expecting anything amazing this time around. I’m just glad we got the Porcupine! But what I am happy about is what this signals for future packs, and it shows that Frontier is listening (even if they DO hate monkeys and birds).
Really good analysis and I agree. And I think we can finally, after 3 years, say the middle east and north africa are well represented! I've waited for so long!

For now, Southest Asia, Africa and Kind of europe (Maybye wild boars and a bird to complete it better) are very well represented!. Now we only need South America and Oceania 😅

I'm slightly disappointed, I was expecting at least one new world animal, and was too ungulate heavy. I am happy that we're finally getting a new snake, Dromedary Camel, ACP, and Sand Cat to me were no brainers, Dama Gazelle is unnecessary, I am happy that we're finally getting a spiral-horned antelope and a wild donkey, ambivalent about the Black Rhino. As of right now aside from SEA, this is my least favorite animal pack.

I'm genuinely happy for anyone whose looking forward to this pack! I truly hope you have a great time seeing your favorite animals in game.
But for me, this is by far the most disappointing DLC since launch.
An overrepresented group of animals from an overrepresented region. The return to the static motion of terrariums with the viper feels like a step back.
If not for the dromedary and porcupine, this would be the first pack I'd skip over.

I really like this assessment!

Actually a really interesting theory. I don't believe we'll get European Animal Pack but Highlands or Woodlands with 2 or more EU species is highly possible

don't worry friend, your time will come
maybe for more balanced future packs they needed to get some excess ungulates out of the way

We already have a thread for fall?

My opinion on this DLC: As an ungulate lover, oh my god this pack is amazing. I thought they going to add just 2 ungulates but more than 2 ungulates, I didn't expect that. Dama Gazelle is a surprise choice, I'm happy to have more ungulates! Both Porcupine and Sand Cat are great. I wanted both Somali Wild Ass and Addax, I didn't expect that both of them are in this pack, I'm so happy that we're getting them.

DLC for this fall, wolverine please... I have been waiting for this animal for ages, it's time to bring wolverine in the game

No SA, NA or AU. I had hopes of having multi continents.
IMOP, Africa has gotten too much attention.
This was a great opportunity for the baboon. Almost all herbivores. The gazelle I’ve literally never heard of.
I’m happy about getting the cat which is the only animal I’ve had interest in.
I had hoped to work on my different themed zoos this summer, now it seems it’s just my North African zoo.

Then adding to that theory there's more than zero chance will see NA scenery pack with NA porcupine reusing the New Porcupine rig
