I'm actually pretty happy with this pack but the fact that it's all Africa is... Well it's something
  • Dromedary Camel
  • Addax
  • Dama Gazelle Coyote
  • African Crested Porcupine
  • Sand Cat
  • Black Rhinoceros
  • Somali Wild Ass Greater Roadrunner
  • Desert Horned Viper Literally Any Bird

I'm sure people would still complain about the african theme but there really is nothing wrong with the pack at all. It's like the all the previous pack throughout the last year, not perfect because it doesn't have this animal but a great addition to the game roster regardless.

Someone quoted you and said "Base game snakes are the worst looking animals in the game by in mile. If you took the pattern of noone could tell what species they are supposed to be."

That is SO TRUE 👏 Preach! They are clones. And not very well done. That's why you said base game snakes look bad. They do.

Also, I find the lack of customization for exhibits boring. And the animations for exhibit animals also painfully boring. 😴

Therefore they need an overhaul

I care about the exhibits in general, and I love snakes. The poor base game models bum me out up clise, but are fine when I just drop them down and don't look up close, especially with the small venomous snakes. And I care about the new snake because it's likely to have a high quality model.

I think most dont like it because their both desert antelopes that occupy nearly identical ranges. Especially since we already had one that occupied that range as well its a bit overkill for this areas antelope rep.

Even if we did still get 5 ungulates it'd be nice if they were all from around the same place (barring the rhino). Like a blackbuck or peccary would've been good for areas that need it more.

  • Dama Gazelle - Replace by collared peccary
  • African Crested Porcupine - Highly requested. New type of animal. Iconic animal.

  • Black Rhinoceros - Replace by Hamadryas baboon
  • Somali Wild Ass - Replace by patagonian mara
  • Desert Horned Viper - Replace by egyptian or indian cobra

So basically i would replace almost everything to make a pack that has more variety in both types of animals and world representation.

Minimal fixes:
Change Title to Sahara Animal Pack, including predominantly Sahel, Sahara, and Danakil Desert Animals. For this reason, the black rhino, serval, and secretary bird won't make an appearance. They could be saved for a Savannah, Safari, or Bird Pack.

Keepers:
  1. African Crested Porcupine: love this little guy
  2. Dromedary Camel: Great for Middle East
  3. Addax: My second Favorite Antelope
  4. Somali Wild: Finishes up the equids
  5. Sand Cat: I am really excited about a small cat
  6. Saharan Horned Viper: I like it and I'm not sure what else would go here?

    Changes:
  7. Hamadryas Baboon: I, and many others, want this guy
  8. Spurred Tortoise: a new tortoise would be good.
The Jackal and Honey Badger would be good additions as well. There is no bird, but at least there is a monkey and a reptile.
While I kind of like the gazelle, and it fits with the theme, I think it is a little redundant with the Addax. The Rhino doesn't fit the theme as well.

A separate desert pack could take the honey badger and/or Jackal, and maybe also include the Arabian Oryx, Rock Wallaby, Perentie, Collared Peccary, Rhea, and Mara with Burrowing Owls in a WE.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm keeping everything but the sand cat. Take that out and put in the baboon and I'm pretty happy with the pack. Addax is my favourite antelope, addra gazelle is beautiful. I could take or leave the black rhinoceros but I don't mind having it (though I'd prefer the Sumatran...in a different pack obviously). Dromedary is a given, and it's nice to have a camel that doesn't look awful. Porcupine is obviously the star of the pack.

For the exhibit animal, the snake is a little boring. I like snakes just fine, but this is another brown-toned desert snake. I think a perfect exhibit animal for this pack is the northern bald ibis for the walkthrough. Critically endangered, a population in Morocco - it fits the theme perfectly. I know a lot of folks would prefer ibises as habitat animals, but meh. For me they work either way.

Honestly, that's about it... the Porcupine is awesome, I was fully convinced a desert pack would feature the Camel and the Sand Cat, the Somali Wild Ass was on my own desert animal list, and the Addra Gazelle? ...well, I could sacrifice it, but I can't think of anything I'd want more... except maybe a non-African animal or two, but the best options for non-African desert animals don't wow me as much as the African ones...

I doubt that they'll change the new upcoming animals to another after planetzoo.com news showed what new animals of each of every dlc pack will be coming. Changes like that never happen to every previous pack.

Is a game. Kind of.

Or just a way to express our dissapointment with the roster and show how i could be better.

Honestly if it was called just Sahara animal pack i would be fine with it.

That said i would change the wild ass for the baboon and the rhino for a bird (and get the rhino later on). Could be the bald ibis, or a vulture (egyptian would be dope), or even the secretary bird even if they are not from the Shara. The exhibit i would change as well for a cobra.
