What Animals' Should Be Updated?

With the reveal of the Dromedary Camel, it is an unfair comparison between versions of animals from 4 years ago to now. The Dromedary Camel exceeds in quality in comparison to the Bactrian Camel, and this is the same for many species such as the Black and Blue Wildebeests. In many cases, it will make the animals look more realistic and less fat.

Here is my list for animals that should have their fur and appearance updated to appear as realistic as current animals do: (Not it any order)

I think these 10 are the most important ones out of your list that would need be addressed more rapidly. The others I can satiate and I don't mind ones like tge nyala and gemsbok as much. As well as thta I care less about things like black wildebeest when we have an alternative now.

Oh I forgot that was the issue with it. I didn't mind it before but now that we have the dromedary that'll be a bit harder. It's a pretty simple fix and I won't be surprised if we get it tweaked this update due to this.

Well it is simple, like swap the previous face with a llama alone could make it way closer to real life

I think that half the animlas you listed look fine

I would update all the big cats (with the lion being top priority and the animal from the base game that most needs a rework), the spotted hyena, the brown bears, the reindeer, fix the okapi rig and make its skin more glossy, give the orangutan longer hair, new rig and brachiation, the african buffallo needs a new skin and the bison needs an upgrade.

The rest i think the changes are minor, could be tweaked to look a bit better, mostly the skins and rigs, but i'm fine with the models and they look good enough for me, specially the big apes and antelopes, i don't see what is so wrong about them.

Others like the black wildebeest i really don't care enough to demand an update

Could this count?
Full subspecies name of the cougar although that game's cougar's regions was all its subspecies' regions/locations. For me, I like the Rocky Mountains one the most.

Pumas are pan continental. I prefer it to keep it as the main species. That way i can use it for local zoos. I perdonally don't asociate the puma with NA but SA, since they are pretty much the top predators here ( other than the jaguars but they don't have much range nor are as common in my country)

I'm not really joking if I suggest that it would be a great idea making a Remaking Animal Models Meta-Wishlist. 🙃:unsure:
With about... The 5 animals that need a remake according to each person? My top 5 would be:
  1. Malayan tapir
  2. Grizzly bear (and/or Himalayan)
  3. Okapi
  4. Orangutan
  5. Saltwater crocodile

1. Malayan Tapir - one that looks like them for starters.

2. Maybe the Lion...but really just the Malayan Tapir for me.

ETA: - The American Bison needs to be resized, though the model itself is fine other than that.

Malayan tapir is the only one I'll actively advocate for, because as far as I'm concerned they simply didn't actually finish making it. They added the skin and forgot to do the rest. The other animals certainly aren't the same quality as the newer DLC models, but it's extremely unlikely that Frontier will make any significant changes to them.

Honestly, seeing the amazing quality of the new packs animals makes me wish all older animals were updated to this level. But i doubt thats gonna happen, so im just gonna mention a few that stand out to me.
Lion: pretty selfexplainatory, its a little baffeling that the face of the game looks like it belongs to a different game :D
"Malayan" tapir: yeah also selfexplainatory. Weird because it shouldnt even be that much work updateting it
Orang utan: Its based of the gorilla and it shows. Also the new bristley hairs of the red river hog would look so good on them.
Koala: Alot of older animals have this cute-y-fied look to them but its really obvious on this guy
Base game bears: They all ahve this odd pear shape to them. To be fair, alot of the old animals are ... uhm ... well fed. I would prefer a more lean look for most.
Female saltie: It has this weird squished together look
Base game snakes: Im a little sorry to say this but most of them look HORRENDOUS in comparisson to the other animals. Easily the worst looking animals by a long long mile.

For me, the lion and the brown bears are the ones that need it the most. Also the snakes, they look too bad.

They still need to update the bison to fix its size.

Although I'm not too bothered, I hope the Malayan tapir gets some work so that people are finally happy about it and we can move on.

I totally forgot about the bison! The model itself looks okay but agree, it needs to be resized, which I'm thinking may not be as much work? not sure on that. Either way, it's massive in real life and isn't really reflected as such in game.

My top 5:
Malayan Tapir - this one does not need explanation
Himalayan Brown Bear - I am affraid this animal do not look anything like the real life counterpart
Koala - I find their fur so weird and too dark, not sure, maybe I am just used for the lighter grey koala pictures
Bornean Orangutan - this one would especially benefit from the longer hair fur shader that Frontier mastered now
Timber Wolf - could use some work, mainly on the head and fur.

We all know the obvious ones for sure but I’m going to focus mainly on one. Simply because it is the face of the game. The lion is the modern day equivalent to the animal kingdom that the t-rex was and is to the dinosaurs. It’s still my favorite animal in game as is irl. It’s definitely a lion but it simply deserves soooo much better.
