That word is just in the name. It is only a swear if it is not in the name.I did forget to put Andean....but the part after that got deleted. Guess the forum wasn't a fan of that word.

Kind of interesting that the Northern Brown Kiwi didn't make it to the top 10
In addition to the Possible Explanations I mentioned earlier, I just realized that there is no other Species identified for Kiwi on the List. So we can technically assume all 30 something Votes are for North Island Brown Kiwi. Many people just write down Kiwi and that's it. This can be one of the Reasons for it not being in the Top 10.Each Meta-Wishlist tends to be slightly different in its Results. Some Species become Popular and people focus on those depending on the Format and Participation in each List.
Nobody ever believes me, but I once saw a bald eagle fly over my house when I was out in the yard. I was about 10, and it was low enough to the ground where I can identify itcommunity poll time! What is the most exciting/exotic bird you've ever seen in the wild?

Back when I lived in Washington State, I saw Bald Eagles absolutely everywhere. Now that I live in Florida, the most interesting birds I've seen in the wild are Roseate Spoonbills. And finally, community poll time! What is the most exciting/exotic bird you've ever seen in the wild?

I loved seeing the marsh birds in my stay at Florida. Roseate spoonbills, wood storks, osprey, and ibis are animals that I loved seeing at the street and retention ponds. It is difficult to see birds in Turkey due to everlasting habitat destruction and people’s infatuation for stray cats and dogs. However I remember seeing Dalmatian pelicans, white storks, and ravens on road trips so that was nice. And finally, community poll time! Interesting... A lot of people I know go to Turkey just for Birdwatching annually. It is said to be one of the best spots for Variety, due to it being a Crossroads of 3 Continents and being one of the best places to observe Migrations. I guess you are referring to Metropolises particularly, but even then as far as I know, Istanbul is ranked No.1 for Birdwatching in any Big City in the World, for the Migration Route going through the narrow stretch of land it is situated on.It is difficult to see birds in Turkey due to everlasting habitat destruction and people’s infatuation for stray cats and dogs.
I guess I meant to compare Turkish urban spaces with that of the US. I did live in Ankara and I sometimes visit the outskirts of Istanbul. The destruction there is saddening and the toxic love people have for strays are a salt in the wound to wildlife here. I just wish I could see more than the 4-5 same birds I always see.Interesting...
