Kind of interesting that the Northern Brown Kiwi didn't make it to the top 10
Each Meta-Wishlist tends to be slightly different in its Results. Some Species become Popular and people focus on those depending on the Format and Participation in each List.
In addition to the Possible Explanations I mentioned earlier, I just realized that there is no other Species identified for Kiwi on the List. So we can technically assume all 30 something Votes are for North Island Brown Kiwi. Many people just write down Kiwi and that's it. This can be one of the Reasons for it not being in the Top 10.

List has been updated!

Some records broken this week! We hit 75 voters! Admittedly, we fell short of my goal of 100 participants by Summer DLC, but now I'm extending it to the Fall, so only 25 more to go!

But the big one, DUCKS BROKE 100 VOTES!!!
For perspective, if ducks were collectively on the Meta-Wishlist, they'd be in the Top 25 most requested animals.

Nothing is guaranteed, but I really hope this catches someone's attention as the other birds continue breaking into the triple digits. The demand is absolutely there.

Other news, owls are only 2 votes from the benchmark, and macaws 7.
The last remaining bird in the Top 20 of the main Meta-Wishlist has broken into Top 10 most requested individual birds. So congrats to the North Island Brown Kiwi!

And finally, community poll time! What is the most exciting/exotic bird you've ever seen in the wild?
Being an American, I've seen quite a few - bald eagles flying over the highways, ospreys nesting in the nearby baseball diamond, so, so, SO many ducks.
But - while they're not very rare - nothing will beat a massive, massive congregation of sandhill cranes during the Great Migration when I visited Iowa earlier this year.

How about all of you?

Nobody ever believes me, but I once saw a bald eagle fly over my house when I was out in the yard. I was about 10, and it was low enough to the ground where I can identify it

Other than that, not much. Black American vultures, turkey vultures, feral monk parrots. I did see horneros when I went to Argentina 10 years ago, as well as their nests. I believe they're called ovenbirds in English

I loved seeing the marsh birds in my stay at Florida. Roseate spoonbills, wood storks, osprey, and ibis are animals that I loved seeing at the street and retention ponds. It is difficult to see birds in Turkey due to everlasting habitat destruction and people’s infatuation for stray cats and dogs. However I remember seeing Dalmatian pelicans, white storks, and ravens on road trips so that was nice.

Interesting... A lot of people I know go to Turkey just for Birdwatching annually. It is said to be one of the best spots for Variety, due to it being a Crossroads of 3 Continents and being one of the best places to observe Migrations. I guess you are referring to Metropolises particularly, but even then as far as I know, Istanbul is ranked No.1 for Birdwatching in any Big City in the World, for the Migration Route going through the narrow stretch of land it is situated on.

I guess I meant to compare Turkish urban spaces with that of the US. I did live in Ankara and I sometimes visit the outskirts of Istanbul. The destruction there is saddening and the toxic love people have for strays are a salt in the wound to wildlife here. I just wish I could see more than the 4-5 same birds I always see.
