Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

I see no point in ending the support if it brings them constant expected revenue.

I feel that we can expect more DLC’s to come and that would explain why they are keeping the most required species for the future headliners:
  • Tassie
  • Secretary bird
  • Wolverine
  • Coati
  • Walrus
  • Baboon
  • Manatee
I feel that ground birds animal pack would happen eventually about flying birds I am not so sure.

2 dlcs left to make the bird peoples happy, time to start digging the grave
2 DLC isn’t enough to make me happy… max (very optimistically, assuming 2 birds-only animal packs) would be 16(ish) birds.

Edit: and that’s being optimistic in terms of birds only - it’d mean no monkeys or any other kneeled mammals at all!

We should all wait for the full financial Report instead of this short summary to conclude anything about the Future of Planet Zoo. What I can find is this sentence from Dorans link:

"Alongside these two new major game releases, Frontier's existing game portfolio is expected to continue to deliver substantial on-going revenue contributions in FY24, supported by new content."

FY 2024 goes until 31st of May 2024. Until then we potentially will get DLCs. Everything else (perhaps even a spring DLC) just is pure speculation. As I already said only the complete financial Report will enlighten us. What we know from the semi annual Report from November PZ still was sold Well after half of FY 2023 followed by a popular Grasslands animal Pack and a perhaps Not so popular Tropical Pack afterwards which complete this FY2023.

When is that report due?

Besides birds and monkeys, the game feels pretty complete to me. I don't really have too many wants that aren't bird, whether habitat or potentially WE.

Not sure why I'm sharing this
There are some other pretty noteable ommissions. Things I feel are missing when I play:
  • African crocodile
  • East asian ungulates
  • Patagonia (especially mara and rhea)
  • Coati
  • Peccary
  • Indian savannah species (blackbuck, axis deer...)
  • Desert caprine
  • Himalayan caprine
  • Large snakes
  • Chameleon
And these all are pretty major. There are off course a ton more potential niche animals.

I know most people wouldn’t bring it up but aquariums are still missing almost every zoo I’ve been to has had one form of aquarium or fully aquatic animal and to not get that would suck for me

I would say the game is pretty much 80 percent complete with the main issues when using mods are lack of birds and a good selection of woodland/tropical exhibit animals. Sure not using mods highlights further issues but I wouldn't say we are too far off a generally satisfactory roster.

WHAT are you saying? There is never an end to a wishlist of a TRUE zoo nerd. NEVER.
But it's hard when your wishlist contains the gray fox and people poop on you for wanting it😭😅🤣

Oof yeah, I guess. Of all these, though, the only I've seen are coatis, large snakes, chameleons, and the crocodile

Makes sense, I guess. In my experience the only fully aquatic center I've seen in zoos are things like sharks and small fish. Never have I ever seen a manatee

Yes sir, yep

Here is what I would do for the inevitable fall DLC.

While it has been discussed a bit:
  • Children’s Zoo Pack
  1. Dwarf Goat
  2. Squirrel Monkey
  3. Patagonian Mara
  4. Duck species (Mallard/ Mandarin)
  5. Exhibit animal: Jackson Chameleon
  • A lot of the building pieces will be education themed. Animal skeletons, taxidermy, furs/skins, animal models and educational signs. It will also add some more behind the scene stuff to really detail the zoo.
  • The free update will add animal feeding stations, which work with the following: tortoises, giraffes, seals and sea lions, llamas, goats, ducks, etc.
  • The free update will also add the budgie as the first walk through exhibit bird. Base game users still don’t have a use for the walkthrough exhibit in base game, and I feel like they are the perfect option for everyone.

Love that roster. I'll be fine with a pack like this one.
