@Mole HD they say the Orkneys consider going to Norway. Is that serious or just rattling to get more cash?
The islands belonged to the Kingdom of Norway until a couple of centuries ago...As long as they don't start asking for my passport when I get on the local ferry, I'm sure I'll like being part of Norway...My farm is about as close to Haugesund (on the Norwegian coast between Stavanger and Bergen) as it is to Inverness :)

You know what "Hau gesund" means in German: "Beat to health" - it's intriguing, but sadly it just means Hauge Sound.

1492 was discovery of the Americas? How about a game in this period? Discovering the world as one of the explorers? Could make a sailing game with logistics and adventure for each expedition. 1472 was portugese explorers still discovering the coast of Africa.

Got to remember this is recorded history of exploration by Europeans, I am sure the inhabitants of said African coasts knew they were there long before 1472.

Good luck making a game like that today. In better times, EA made a game like it, though.

How has everyone forgotten Amazon's smash hit MMO New World?

1000s of players romping around AWS servers in Lumberyard!

I imagine it's colonising AAA gaming as we speak...

Hello natives, do you have a system of governance? What? you do now.
I think the exploration game does not need model the exploitation. Or make it a fictional alternative where colonial abuse doesn't happen. Or have it happen in space. First contact is a common theme in space games. Exploring a 2D map is just a bit more accessible for human minds.

Can I join too? Ayrshire is close enough, surely?
