SQ42 update : https://mailchi.mp/cloudimperiumgames/squadron-42-update-150095

Lastly, Vehicle Features worked on the boat physics model. The core physics model works well, though improvements and tweaks were made to improve the experience as other features were completed.
The farce is strong in this one.

By the way I can't help but get you into one of my favourite french expressions : "le dindon de la farce", which means "being the fall guy", but literally translates to "stuffing's turkey".

And oh my how CIG is best damn turkey stuffer ever! And oh my how SC fans are the most grateful turkeys of all, always praising and praying for being stuffed more and more, whatever rancid and disrespectful it is!

To be fair, he probably backed based on marketing and other information released by CIG, promoting the game as some sort of wonderful playable thing, with disclaimer in small print, yadda yadda, nobody ever reads, which is why some countries have ruled ToS to be unenforceable. Maybe he backed when Chris was stating the game would require a bit more polish and be released in a couple of years or whatever.
No.
He go through a massive disclaimer about alpha when he pledged SC and every time you launch the game you have to click this.

Some ships require many crew members, which currently can only be human player.

Once NPC crew is implemented however... (and fixed, and then fixed again, and then again and then again and then maybe it will work 10% of the time) Just you wait!
When they try to get all of these players and NPC crew on the ship, plus all the other players who are flying around in their crewed up ships trying to shoot tons of missiles at the behemoth vessel, how will it play at one frame per minute?
(waits for server meshing comments) :giggle:

NPC crew will just form a T-posed shiled wall around your ship to prevent that.

EVA!

Going beyond selling ships for money, they are now selling loadouts.

Not a new thing though, been going for ages, particularly in the subscribers monthly perks 🤷‍♂️

Is there any more pay to win example than this?

It's not a cosmetic. It's not a "pledge" to help the game be developed. It's a pay to win item for a game that isn't out.

I despair.
They're just different coloured versions of kit already purchaseable in game with in game cash from any shop...or found in loot crates. There's nothing special about them except the colours 🤷‍♂️

Like, Star Citizen commercial launch: 2016, for example ;)

I keep thinking, did he use his own money to get that Arena Commander t-shirt made or was it part of game development?
They are winning so much. Like the way they totally wrecked Crytek before the court, to the point of paying them millions in settlement.

CI are both incredibly shady and pathetic, for the lack of a better word (that I know of).
Did they pay the settlement with backer's money or company profit? Considering there's no product, I can't see how they'll have any money not assigned to game development. Another one of Chris Roberts using money for something other than what he's supposed to?

Someone want to remind them that pets are already paid for. They were the 64 million dollar stretch goal for 1 million dollars.

Surely CIG must be the cusp of adding them by now!

Why are citizen excited for something that already exists in other space games? Surely they don't think CIG should copy other space games???

Also, a Debbie Downer pointing out that SC already had something similar before, and it was removed!

Seems like they are serious, but could easily be a troll post considering backers often say it can't be pay to win, because there is no winning, therefore duping shouldn't be an issue really should it?

And a couple of threads about the new career kits:

In the debbie downer quote there was PES. Maybe CIG removed thoat Master Mode because they need PES to mean Persistent Entitiy Streaming instead. I don't understand game development.

Is that text on the "Play now"/"purchase" checkout?

Not sure if it's a legal "get out of jail" for developers to slap "oh it's alpha/early access so everything is fine" on low quality software they expect people to pay full price (and in this case, well above full price) as "Alpha" is not a universally understood term and "early access" implies "on time access" and that there will be some kind of release, which there is no intention of.

Mhhh NPC crew, reminds me about one multiplayer session I and one of my friends had in Silent Hunter III...we had hunted down a small convoy, managed to get rid of escorts and then surfaced to finish cargo ships. Both me and my friend started to wonder about incoming artillery fire. It seemed to both of us that its surprisingly heavy, though did not manage to hit either of our ships. Meanwhile npc crew was shooting wildly with deck cannon...Yeah, deck cannon...It soon became clear, our NPC crewmen were shooting our own boats instead of cargo ships.

So, rather than selling the skins which can be applied to the right kit, like in ED for example, they sell you actual items, which you can lose, that cost $10?

The grift knows no limits.
We've been suggesting that for ages, especially since paid for and account tied items like this can now be lost until either a future wipe or Ci~G do what they promised and sort it so they're permanent, replaceable inventory items that remain tied to your personal inventory.

Personally, I'd prefer the appliable skins option rather than complete armour items, saves a load of bleating from the entitled whiners like me who paid for the cosmetic junk in the first place...Yup, I've got loads of it...from a variety of ship paints for every ship I own to fancy coloured armour sets...all bought with bukshee store credit though, I don't spend reall dolla' for tat if I can avoid it.

Like I said, none of this stuff gives any P2W advantage in the slightest...it just looks real purdy :)

Mind you, I was just as much a sucker with the cosmetic stuff for ED, bought paints and ship kits by the dozen...with real cash instead of store credit

SaltEMike is using his "Star Citizen" stream scripting his YouTube video on this topic (instead of playing the game).
