Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Not even NFT?
Probably squeezing out every last drop before Start Field arrives.
We could make NFTs of us waiting for SC. On my NFT you would see me playing a different game. And each month it is another one. On Mole's NFT would be a cow munching different greens each month. AA would feature a different handbag each month that'd make Sandi green with envy.

After that we make a new edition with fish. Anchovy, Pufferfish, haddock - I know all the names now, because I've been playing Dave the Diver. And each fish NFT comes with a sister collectible NFT which is the same fish turned into sushi.

We'll be rich!

Apparently they have introduced a "hotfix" that fixed the item duplication issue using ship racks.

The fix is to remove the ability to store any items in the racks.

Which in effect became useless.

CIG: Fixing issues by removing features :D

(reminds a bit of DSS heatmap and botany minigame in Elite tho)
That is their standard course of action. They remove entire planets and stations and items from player inventories. There is so much diverse activities removed - it's not even funny - at least twice the amount of activities you can do in ED is removed in just one pass. SC can afford it because it has so much activities in even just 1 crater the size of Skyrim.

I dunno - how is a loadout more pay2win than a ship with naval grade weaponry?
Oh it isn't any different really, but the big ticket ship "pledges" are explained away as helping to fund the BDSSE, saving PC gaming.

Citizens just can't make that argument fly when it's a purely pay to win item that won't make a damn bit of difference to the project overall. It's just low level CIG profit for pay to win in game items.

Dave the Diver has also more activities than ED:
Harpoon icefish
harpoon pollock
harpoon barrel jellyfish
harpoon (shock tip) barrel jellyfish
harpoon (poison tip) barrel jellyfish

and don't get me started on the different melee weapons. There must be at least 24.000 unique activities in Dave the Diver.
God, I think I need to go to the Irish pub today - they have good fish & chips and a nice cider. All this talk about fish makes me hungry.

But does it have exploding toilet gameplay?

Skyrim had more activities than ED and it was just one crater the size of a standard ED planet: Do you remember all the stuff you could catch and pluck? And Morrowind had more spells and more potions than ED has activities. Dont get me started on the different lock combinations. Millions of diverse activities.

Actually, the magic system in Daggerfall was insane. It was a small programming language on its own. Like companion behaviours in Dragon Age: Origins.

Unlimited activities. Dude have you seen what people made with redstone and note blocks? Minecraft told me basic circuitry and logic gates. What does SC teach? How to be gullible sheep?

DAO: Kinda the last fantasy action RPG I enjoyed. The rest was just AI bum rushing past the fighters unpunished and ganging up on the mage. In BG they would have paid hefty price for doing that. Yeah, these games went to the dodo.

I think the DSS is fine at this point as you can flick through different bios in the map, the only thing I'd like is to be able to show it in a separate screen, like the system map so I don't have to go to orbital cruise to know where to go next. The botany minigame didn't bother me too much but it's better that it is gone, and I only think anything resembling a minigame should be reserved for any deeper analysis components if Frontier decide to add any.

minigame is pants. it's good for the first couple interactions, then prtagonist should have figured out some efficiency upgrade, scanner tech, damage type to have the desired result without any minigame.

I keep thinking, did he use his own money to get that Arena Commander t-shirt made or was it part of game development?
As many people, including myself, have noted, the Robberts is expending most of his efforts, and much of his backers’ money, on the illusion of being a successful game development studio, rather than actually developing the games that were to be delivered back in 2014. Successful game studios have branded shirts for their team, so…

I bet he's got one of those fold-out canvas chairs with his name on the back when he plays being a movie producer re-doing the mocap scenes for the umpteenth time.
