Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

As many people, including myself, have noted, the Robberts is expending most of his efforts, and much of his backers’ money, on the illusion of being a successful game development studio, rather than actually developing the games that were to be delivered back in 2014. Successful game studios have branded shirts for their team, so…
So why hiring 700 employee when you can do the same illusion with way less employee and swindle more money ?

Even when the muppet Roberts was part of successful game development studios, he still didn't manage to produce any games...what makes you think this time will be any different?

The illusion and trappings of success is what matters to Roberts, not the reality of being anything other than 🤷‍♂️

My guess is Chris Roberts doesns't have the talent to do the coding and art design himself. It was teh Crytek guys who did teh code for the original pitch afterall.

Even more realistically though, he probably wants the grandure of being the head of a huge game dev copany. Why else would he hire A-list actors for mocaps if not for the clout.

Roberts was unable to even deliver the more simple illusion promised at Kickstarter. The answer to your question is pretty simple: Incompetence. Completely misjudging and mismanaging adequate resources for many key tasks, big or small. And all that possibly leading to potential fraud or wilful misrepresentation.

Because he's had to prove somehow he's running an actual business making games after cashgrabbing 15 million quid from the UK government
