What 2 of these 8 themes would you want?

Thinking about potential themes here, and I'm going to throw out what themes I'd most like to see through the end of 2024 plus a couple of others. But...let's say that we only have 2 packs left. What 2 of the following would you pick? One must be an animal pack and one must be a scenery pack - you can choose what you'd prefer to be each. This is very important to understand that when picking, there would be no more content after these two packs, so no saving anything for later. Just pick 2. I'm not including species since that's a lot to choose from, just going with the general theme but feel free to list them in your specific picks like I"m doing.

Temperate Pack
Highlands/Taiga Pack
Islands Pack
Petting/Children's Zoo Pack
Avian Pack
Aquarium Pack
Amazon/Rainforest Pack
Finale/Wrap up Pack

Just curious which two would be the ones you'd have to have at the expense of anything else.

I'd personally go with a Temperate pack and Avian pack, begrudgingly accepting there would be no more New World Monkeys.

Temperate - Wolverine, Tasmanian Devil, Kiwi, Spectacled Bear - Bald Eagle Non Walkthrough Exhibit (NWE)

Avian Pack - Swan, Secretary Bird, Shoebill, Pelican habitat animals: WE/NWE exhibits: Scarlet Macaw, Hyacinth Macaw, Toco Toucan, Rhinoceros Hornbill, Kookaburra, Golden Eagle (6 exhibit animals should make it alright to make the total of 10 animals instead of the normal 8.

I would go for:

Temperate Pack (Forest pack): Tasmanian devil + wild boar + wolverine + howler monkey + tuatara (E) and wood cabin or lodge set

Highlands Animal Pack: hamadryas baboon + Andean bear + markhor + alpine marmot + takin + Pallas's cat + yak + an exhibit

Yup, definitely going to be animals we wish we'd still get, but making the hard "choices" here. Not that we have control over what Frontier will choose of course!

So for me it would be:

Scenery Pack: Petting/Children's Zoo Pack
Because it is just whats missing the most to make a realistic zoo (aside from birds and fish), I want guest interactions and I still want hay feeders so badly :D
I actually want Aquariums more but that one heavily depends on how it is done in the game and I'm also okay with just using fish mods in the long run


Animal Pack: Avian Pack
I mean... it's the number 1 thing missing in this game, I need my toucan!


But I'd still be sad to not get aquariums :( the rest is all just nice to have but not needed for me!

Personally, if we get bald eagles, I'd prefer a new game mechanic for zoos based in North America. In America, Eagle exhibits in real life are open-air, and they always take in rescues. They're open-air so that whenever they fully recover and their feathers (which they clipped) grow back, they can just fly off back into the wild.

I'll take the Avian Pack and Aquarium Pack. They'd be the most different packs out of the ones you listed, and they're probably the least likely to eventually come.

  • NWE: Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Laughing Kookaburra, Great Horned Owl, Snowy Owl, and Peregrine Falcon
I get that it's a lot to ask for in the exhibits, but I don't care.

Aquarium Pack
  • Sandtiger Shark
  • West Indian Manatee
  • Green Sea Turtle
  • Cownose Stingray
  • New Aquarium Exhibit Type: Pacific Octopus,
  • Scenery: No idea. Maybe a shipwreck or a seaside town? Maybe it'll be supplemented by the new means of building marine tank habitats.

The choice is pretty simple imo.

Children Zoo for the scenery pack, as it allows to include 2 of the most neglected groups, south american animals and domestic animals.
My choices would be the african dwarf goat as the most common animal in zoos and the best stand alone petting zoo animal, either the muscovy or the mallard duck, with the mallard having a white colormorph to represent the common domestic duck aswell as piebald variants to represent wild and domestic mixes, budgies in the WE cause comeone its budgies who doesnt love budgies, and an SA monkey (squirrel, spider and tamarin would all fit great) and the south american coati to round out the south american mammals.

For the animal pack id obviously would go with the birds pack and as its my wish fullfillment pack id have all birds besides 1 as habitat animals that can fly as locomotion just as the crane, flamingo and peafowl can, aswell as a new option where there flight can be disabled by cutting their flight feathers for open topped enclosures.
My choices would be the scarlet ibis as a south american wading bird, bearded vulture to cover the old world mountain ranges with a stunning looking king, the bald eagle cause murrica, the lesser bird of paradise for some colorful oceania representation, the snowy owl to complete the arctic and as arguably the most popular aswell as most common in zoos owl, the oystercatcher as an worldwide ocean wadding bird and lastly both the blue and yellow and red macaw, because of the minor differences an extra animal for the joyous event, aswell as zebra finches for the WE.

Imo this might be the best selection to get in 2 packs and while not all of my personal favorites could make it id certanly be more then satisfied if this was the end

For me the two i would choose are:

AMAZON ANIMAL PACK

1. Ocelot
2. South american coati
3. Spider monkey
4. Howler monkey
5. Scarlet ibis
6. South american tapir
7. Arrau river turtle
8. WE: tropical aviary: macaws, toucans and hummingbirds (yeah i cheated)

Children's zoo scenery pack

1. Patagonian mara
2. A duck
3. Squirrel monkey or golden lion tamarin
4. Nigerian dwarf goat (not that i personally want them but they seem to fit the theme very well and are popular in this community apparently)
5. WE: parakeets

Anniversary animal: greater rhea

That said, we definetly need more than two more packs. Look at all the important animals that end up being left out of the roster :(

This is a fun exercise for a lazy Friday afternoon...

Temperate Pack (Scenery): Wolverine, Tasmanian devil, burrowing owls, and kiwi with a budgie walk-through exhibit.
Amazon/Rainforest Pack (Animal): Goodfellow's tree kangaroo, ocelot, coati, golden lion tamarin, black howler monkey, muntjac, and scarlet ibis with a walk-through exhibit featuring macaws, toucans, and hornbills.

Honestly, it bums me out to think about not getting some of the other packs but... This would allow me to sneak in quite a few of my most-wanted and get a fun theme in (NA woodlands/national pack/lodge). And while I know three walk-through species is out of the norm? I dunno, for a last pack... It seems reasonable. Hah.

If we were just talking about themes in terms of scenery items, my picks would have to be different (domestic/farm/petting zoo would undeniably be my pick - but I want those animals far less).

Aquarium would be my far and away first choice, but I don't see any hope of that happening, so my realistic choice would be:
  • Highlands Animal Pack
  • Petting Zoo Scenery Pack(the only build set I want to see added is a North American Western theme, so Petting Zoo would have the best theme aside from that)

Of all your eight packs, jcp011c, here're my two out of your eight:

Rainforest Pack (if not Amazon): African leopard, squirrel monkey, scarlet ibis and false gharial
Aquarium Pack: green sea turtle, walrus, sea otter, rockhopper penguin, and for Exhibit: small fish like clownfish, seahorses and piranhas
