Having to exit game via task manager

I haven't had it in ages in ED, but when I did you could see it releasing memory v e r y slowly in task manager. When it hit a certain point, the blackscreen would vanish. If I could see the memory dissipating, I'd just wait. If it paused or stopped, taskkill.

Yep, forget about antialiasing, about ED closing gracefully and about low fps / low gpu utilization combo

Thankfully, i can enjoy the game as is, but i'm a low maintenance person anyway (i like cats more than dogs - that should speak plenty )

I didn't expect this to ever get fixed. It's just too random to really get a grip on. Unless it becomes a repeatable issue, it's next to impossible to figure out. I see this all the time diagnosing vehicles.

It's absolutely repeatable, every week when the messages appear warning of the maintenance shutdown the game fails to exit cleanly.

That's a different issue with the same result.

I wonder if the new launcher requires a 3GB download, or something like that.

I just hope it doesn't break Minimal ED Launcher. I really don't want to go back to switching accounts manually.

It's still the exact same problem, being placed in the too hard basket instead of being fixed.

I usually dont play before maintenance (i'm on EET+2, so it falls in my morning hours) nor before patchdays so i dont get those messages.
Still, sometimes - not very often, but often enough to be noticeable, i still get the client stuck on exit and i have to task kill it
