Feeling Dirty - Soiled my game experience - Guardian site reset grind

I only managed to collect 1 SDP "organically" during the past couple of months iirc, so having read this thread I decided to give it a try yesterday. Visited about 8 stations omw from A to B but the very first layer of rng made me give it up after an hour or so, because I could not find any bootleg liquor missions (as a matter of fact I found one such mission in a station in Wyrd but could not accept it right away due to the lack of cargo space and by the time I reopened the mission board after outfitting, the mission had already vanished).
Decide that you want to send a bit of time to gather SDPs and select your ship. Hop from system to system looking for the appropriate missions, and when they appear, take as many as you can. Some will be duds, but you will find the one you want. Then do the farming.

"As many as I can" would have been exactly 1 if I had had a cargo rack. :)

And that's only the first layer of rng, the second one being whether or not RNGsus allows the mission spawn the right kind of wreckage. And of course there's the drop rate of SDPs on top of that.

Why go to the bother of gathering SDPs? The only mod you will miss out on is headshot damage, and if you are patient the weapon you want it on will appear for sale with that mod.

Because headshot is a very important mod and relying on finding your preferred weapon with this mod in stores means praying to a much lesser RNG God (and one that is way more time consuming than relogging in a mission POI)

To experience the content locked behind it (i.e. headshot damage)?

Technically that's not true, because it's pure rng, which means it's not guaranteed that you'll find the weapon you want with any specific mod, unless you have infinite time. :)

yes, but i think the point is that you arent really missing out on anything groundbreaking with lacking headshot bonusbonus.

same with a lot of the things you might feel the need to relog for. playing ed as an organic space sim and playing ed as the meta cheese chaser are two opposite poles and there is a lot of space in between. do what thou wilt, blaze your own trail. just dont blame the game for your decisions...

Heading out to Colonia and getting headshot out there is probably faster than SDP (esp. using an FC taxi). Though having unlocked the SDP engineer and the Colonia engineers I have still never even bothered with it myself - lots of better mods 🤷‍♀️

What experience? A bit more damage if you successfully hit? Most likely not going to reduce the number of shots (IF you hit the head) to take down an opponent.

I and others come across weapons with headshot damage regularly, and often post them on the sharing/caring thread.

Heh, i managed to oneshot some ususpecting scavs using a G5 P15 with headshot
Lately my favorite combo si G5 Aphelion + G5 P15 (with headshot, increased mag size, stability and stowed reloading) - much funnier than Exec/Tormentor

Unshielded targets will get one shotted with most weapons. Rumour has it that shielded can be one shotted using an Intimidator.

This is what I use, two Intimidators with stowed reloading, headshot damage, Dominator G5, I call it Domi Loud, without any silencers, just enter Large Military Settlement, High Sec, and start shooting, then enter Hab building and wait behind the doors for all reinforcements and kill them all.
Btw, if somebody needs some SDPs, just ask, obviously I have enough, now it's 155. Will sell them at minimum price.

That's a bold statement. And factually false.
Only Exec, Tormentor and L-6 will regularly one shot an unshielded npc (an indimidator too, but only from point blank and even then it's not guaranteed)
So that's 3 weapons out of 11 - far from "most weapons"
Now, if we add Headshot to a G5 P15, with an extremely well aimed shot, certain NPC (not all) can be one-shotted too

And regarding the Intimidator one-shotting shielded npc, that happens only with a certain type of Intimidator build AND only by exploiting, more or less (in)voluntary, a certain game mechanic

I use two same Intimidators with Faster Handling, Magazine Size, Headshot Damage, Stowed Reloading. Many times it's one shot of shielded NPC (which has 4 bars shield)
but only from close range, and not always. I would say 50 : 50. I don't know this "certain game mechanic". What's this?
