As a Steam Legacy only player, why am I being forced to download 50Gb? I uninstalled Oddity and Horizons years ago. How do I prevent this nonsense?
Dad gummitI hate to say it, but
I TOLD YOU SO!
If you pause the download, can you still start Legacy through the launcher?Dad gummit
Not via Steam. I get to choose between update or pause. As a VR player I only launch via Steam. If you pause the download, can you still start Legacy through the launcher?
Thanks for the intel, but that is too convoluted for me. I was hoping for a tick box...Stop the update, open the app manifest, update the manifest ID to each depot and set state flag to 4. Make sure STEAM IS NOT RUNNING while you do this. Get the info from steamdb.
Salty cracker. And that is exactly why Valve they got rid of the tick box. Because people are too lazy to do anything more than that to take back control of their own computers and files anymore.
You're probably right. Oh well. Good thing we still have Legacy at all.I assume you uninstall it through the launcher. In that case, Steam will try to re-download it over and over. Live is "the game" now as far as Steam is concerned. It was the other way around when Legacy was still the base game, Steam kept downloading it for me after I uninstalled it in the launcher.
I use SteamVR with WMR and i have only ever launched through FD's own launcher. VR starts automatically when i do that. Not via Steam. I get to choose between update or pause. As a VR player I only launch via Steam.
Interesting. I haven't used the FD launcher in a couple of years. I can't remember why I switched to Steam, but I assume that it was because of the VR implementation/interface.I use SteamVR with WMR and i have only ever launched through FD's own launcher. VR starts automatically when i do that.
Worth a try if you have access to the FD launcher?
You wouldn't happen to have a link to FDs launcher? I can't seem to find it on FDs website.I use SteamVR with WMR and i have only ever launched through FD's own launcher. VR starts automatically when i do that.

I use a Reverb G1.Interesting. I haven't used the FD launcher in a couple of years. I can't remember why I switched to Steam, but I assume that it was because of the VR implementation/interface.
I've settled on an HP Reverb G2. A perfect match for Legacy (if you have the hardware for it).
I'll definitely check it out. Thanks.
So you didn't get a forced download for Oddity/Horizons via the FD launcher?
This is getting a convoluted...You don't need another launcher if you have a Steam installation. You can use the Steam-installed launcher standalone as well, if I remember correctly. Provided you have a standalone Frontier license of course. You cannot login without Steam if you bought the game on Steam after April 2019.
I think if you download the alpha/beta launcher from FD that's always the current one.You wouldn't happen to have a link to FDs launcher? I can't seem to find it on FDs website.
