Update 16: not listed changes in release notes

Being not that type of commander who is up with these new thargoid stuffs also neither explorer nor trader I noticed following change of behaviour in npc wings.

Steps:
  • go to place where you can find wanted ships, observed in my case in hazardous resource extraction site
  • find wing of pirates
  • start shooting wing leader; usually biggest ship or the one in the center of wing

Expected result:
  • all wing members become red reacting to attack (as before update 16)

Actual result:
  • only wing leader becomes red
  • other wing members become red only after the leader is destroyed

I noticed this while doing bounty hunting in resource extraction site before and after the update.
Not a complain, this is somewhat easy mode. I like easy mode.
But this does not look like intentional change.

this happened to me quite often even before the update. Seems sometimes the wingmates are just "busy" and they don't react until their leader pops. More so when you attack the wingmates, often the leader does not care, period.

But to repeat: I have encountered this behavior before.

That's true; I've observed that also.
I will pay more attention to this: it seems that now they are more "busy".
 
Checked. That's true even in this case:
  • wait for the pirate wing leader to start scanning you
  • shoot him
That was how-to Elite rank for years. Also you may wait until they start FSD, then shoot - pirate will not deploy weapons.

Also pirates being yellow is twice fixed bug on my memory. Side effect of this - NPC pilot will be useless as he don't attack yellows (but last time it was yellow pirates were shooting).

Also carriers are bugged 4th time the same (actually in late U15) - when you have mined tritium so full cargo + bins, then you donate tritium and bins should unload to cargo - it will be disconnect.

They keep revive old bugs for Nth time, it's a circle. Never ends.
 
It happens (and was not happening) for powerplay wings... i.e. T9 with 1-2 ships of escorts, shooting T9 prompted aggro from the escorts, now it's only the T9 to shoot back. 🤷‍♂️
 
Its also present (or was, have not checked in a long while) in some high end kill missions with an FDL and 3 Vultures- one would just be eating sandwiches while the others get angry.

Other places include SC sec wings (I also assume other wings have this) where if you interdict the leader and mess them up, the subordinates go all drunk in SC and when interdicted just sit there, eating sandwiches again.

Also I've seen how pirate anaconda started fight with Sirius security wing leader (I suspect it has collected escape pod from one of destroyed ships).
And I observed the same behavior: wing started attack the anaconda only after the leader got destroyed.
 
This is such a long way from the days when ships would start hostile to you if you were hostile with their faction. It meant you couldn't just have an easy lunch at every RES. 😩
 
I spent quite a lot of time in HI REZ sites before Update 16, and found that only the NPC I attacked would become hostile to me. It was only when the wingmen, or leader, attacked me that they also became hostile to me (it seemed like they had to hit my ship first).
It was the first time since mid last year that I had gone into a Hi Res site, due to being out in the black with my FC.
