GALNET - DISTANT THARGOID ENCOUNTER RAISES QUESTIONS - 14 AUG 3309

There must be nearby Beacon, that new site (which need anc key) is a hint. It would make zero sense that Guardians would go into one so far placed and isolated planet without any connection. Problem however is that word “nearby” and what it should mean in this case. Personally I hope that someone lucky (or with better knowledge) will make further discovery in that area, but still I welcome it as occasion to do some own exploration including taking few biological samples and first falls records 😎

Trapezium structure also has a structure that requires an ancient key rather than relic. But to my knowledge - I haven’t kept track of recent discoveries - its associated beacon hasn’t been found either. Could even be possible that it no longer exists, due to meeting a caustic end.

have many beacons ever been found? I only recall one or two being found after the initial tranche of galnet hints led to the first three iirc.

Edit: i see wiki lists 11.

There is a wrecked Scarab by one of the Thargoid crash sites, along with a suspiciously placed corrosive cargo item right behind it. Could be an old explorer’s remains, or something else.
isnt the srv just a common part of the asset? perhaps it just wasnt touched when placing the asset to not mess it up... goid biological matter and such are common occurence on goid crash sites as well.
I don’t have a direct link or timestamp, but there was a segment of the U15 stream from Frontier that had them say the surface sites are not Titans. Followed by, if memory serves, a vague reference of them being crashed ships and “But you knew that already, right?”. (spoiler alert, we didn’t)
neither do i, but afaik goid surface sites were confirmed by fdev to be titans being deconstructed by the scavengers in fdev meeting with elite partners. check with UnusualCupcake

Is this why I can't activate the orb for blueprint?

This is the 2nd Guardian Ruins on Wregoe BU-Y B2-O 1 C and is the HUGE one.
At the other ruins (which is much smaller about 850km away), I got Guardian Weapon Blueprint by jetisoning a Relic as the activator.
Note - it still says Thargoid (7) in Locations on Planetary Information and does not mention Guardian POI's.

What is this 'key' and where do we get it? Where does it drop?

Yes, large sites needs ancient key. Info is from cannon discord and I already tested that relic will not work on that one (reward is/should be vessel blueprint)

Might amble out there later. So the state of play is that one site is a relic/weapon, the other looks like a key/vessel? Or do we not know for sure what the second one does yet, so there's still scope for a new thing/Titanbuster?

It seems on foot thargoids have been everything BUT confirmed since we realized they are harvesting humans (using a scythe among other traditional tools..). Looking forward to it, i'll definintely be jumping back into ED with new purpose. If I'm wrong... then.... Fu- .....

weapon and vessel blueprints indeed
at least so far...
my guess (wish) is that they could be a precursor for a cg that will lead to unlocking new weapons (probably gimballed guardian) and a new vehicle (slf that wont attract swarms? guardian srv?). but they might just be a lore and/or story thing, something to do while bigger stuff is being cooked behind the doors...

Any way to open the doors that are there? I spent some time at the new ruins but didn't even find all of the towers to "charge" yet.

The Scarab has a cargo capacity of four. I wonder if some combination of caskets, orbs, urns, etc. will open a door?

I too fell for the old "activate all the beacons and then try to stuff a Relic into a Key shaped hole" this morning.

And then I went for a drive.

I love that you made a beeline for that crazy looking mountain pass, I did the same thing after surveying a route from the Ruins to the Crash Site earlier this week.

That's where the similarities in our route ends though, as I'm more of a trail runner than a Flyve'r. But it was still great seeing you zoom past some of the valleys I got bogged down in running into invisible rocks lol.

Also I apparently had some followers that caught up to me waiting on my ship to recall. Thought maybe something interesting was happening when I got the "Incoming Missile" alert, but nope, just these persistent buggers.

There is nothing behind the doors. One of them isn't placed properly and you can walk/clip into it on foot. Its just an empty space.
Heh, It just struck me how it would amuse me, were we to encounter Guardian ground troops (...whether actual guardian survivors, or AI constructs...), before we did Thargoid ones... :9
